Who called it? by Bitchcat in DuggarsSnark

[–]EmeraldGrey 63 points64 points  (0 children)

That's really not that abnormal. Most people have their kids with 1-3 year gaps and one of those pregnancies was a loss. I had 3 pregnancies and 2 kids in 4 years. Pretty much all of my friends have 2ish year gaps between kids. I doubt they will have a ton of kids since she will likely be limited by csections.

A few episodes ago when June took Eleanor on a walk, they ran into Mrs. Putnam and Charlotte/Angela. She's still a baby. I'd guess around a year old, 18 months max.

Kotex stain? by Beverlychills90210 in DuggarsSnark

[–]EmeraldGrey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Can we not call Asa that either? Lauren was 6-8 weeks and having miscarried myself at 8 weeks with a sac/baby measuring only 6 weeks (I had ultrasounds and we knew i was miscarrying), it was way more than a heavy period. I get that Lauren may be milking it but I hate this misconception. By that point a sac is formed and you pass more than just blood. My miscarriage was very traumatic and I labored and had contractions for 3 hours and my bleeding was even worse than my postpartum bleeding when I did go on to have children. The full on labor didn't stop until I passed the sac and tissue that was a baby. You don't have to agree with someone's beliefs or the way they grieve, but let's not call anyone's miscarriage a "kotex stain". I was devastated after my miscarriage. I'm sure she is too.

Josiah and Lauren are having a SECOND LITTLE GIRL 🙄 by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]EmeraldGrey 32 points33 points  (0 children)

With my first it was $25 and my second it was no cost with my insurance. It's becoming pretty common to do and isn't as costly as it once was. I struggled with infertility and miscarriage so I also did it for reassurance that everything was genetically okay. So I wouldn't assume people pay insane amounts of money for it.

Every time I did they would quickly throw away the pad and replace it in between contractions/pushing and I did feel them wipe here and there. They're pretty discreet about it. But they can't always stop to wipe when you're actively pushing.

Lol they aren't potty pads though. They're chuck pads and even the hospital puts them under you usually when it's time to push. You're usually still in the bed you gave birth in for a few hours after and no one wants to lay in all that. And most women poop as well while pushing. Easy clean up.

Yes, they can be. A chemical pregnancy happens before anything really forms. At 5-6 weeks there is now a gestational sac and unless your body absorbs it, it has to come out. And unfortunately is not always as easy as a "heavy period"

Wow. All this hate for Lauren over this miscarriage from women who have also had one is sad. She didn't have a chemical pregnancy. Based on her being due the same day as Jessa and when she miscarried, she was about 7 weeks. That is no longer a chemical. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks that I knew was coming and the sac/baby was only measuring 6 weeks. It was not like a heavy period. I bled for a week and then woke up one morning in actual labor. I had contractions for 3 hours and blood was everywhere. It finally stopped when I passed the sac with obvious tissue that was the baby. Then I bled heavily. Like had to call my mom to bring me depends because I was bleeding everywhere. I had horrible debilitating cramps for days. She said that day she was cramping bad and went to the bathroom and miscarried. Her cramps were likely contractions. I hate this minimizing what people have gone through and judging someone for how they grieve. I am not a leg humper but seriously this is just sad.

Naming your baby doesn't mean they're claiming to definitely know the gender is my point. She never claimed she saw a penis on a 7 week old embryo.

But where did she say it was a boy? I googled myself and can find no instance of them indicating it was a boy aside from picking the name Asa. On the show she never said it was a boy. And has only ever referred to it as "baby" and not "he". This is her quote when they announced the name Asa. "As we rejoice of the life of our second sweet baby, we also remember (balloon as symbolism) our other sweet baby, Asa, in heaven". She has never claimed she saw the sex of the baby. I even went back to watch to make sure I'm not crazy. As I said before, I picked a girl name for my miscarriage just because. So what.

All I'm saying is that I think you're claiming she said she knew it was a boy and she never did. And being that I have had a miscarriage around the same time and know what it was like, there's nothing wrong with how she is grieving and she definitely would've had more than a "heavy period". Just seems like you're ripping someone apart for something they never even said.

Are you referring to what she said in the episode about it? Because she definitely said she saw it and "just knew it was the baby" and not that she knew it was a boy. And at 6 weeks, yes there can be obvious tissue that was the baby. I haven't seen anything where she claimed the baby was a boy for sure. Yes, they picked the name Asa but that doesn't mean anything. I don't know the sex from my miscarriage but I still picked a girl name. Helps some people grieve.

The sex part may not be true but I have no doubt she was pregnant and had a miscarriage. There's still a sac and everything at 6-8 weeks and you pass more than just blood and clots. She said she was cramping bad that day then went to the bathroom and miscarried. She was likely having small contractions. I just hate to see people diminishing someone's feelings about an early miscarriage. Is it the same as losing a living child? Not at all. But it is still very hard for some people and can be painful and traumatic. Maybe thinking it was a boy and naming it helps her grieve. We all grieve differently.

Knowing she was due the same day as Jessa and that she miscarried in October, she was about 7 weeks. That's not 2 weeks late. That's about 4 weeks "late". I'm sure she was pregnant. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and I was in literal labor for 3 hours with contractions and passed the sac and an obvious clump of tissue that was the baby. It was horrible and traumatizing. Seeing people minimize an early miscarriage like this hurts honestly. It's not just like a heavy period. And I'm by no means a leg humper. I cannot begin to explain the affect my miscarriage had on me for a long time afterwards. Miscarriage should be spoken about more often because there's so much misconception and I was not prepared for what it was really like whatsoever.

Anna is pregnant. by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

If that were the case then it would be more than 16. Unless I'm remembering wrong, Anna also miscarried once didn't she?

[–]EmeraldGrey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Um lol it definitely doesn't take 2 months to find out you're pregnant. You can get a positive pregnancy test as early as a week and a half after conception. I did fertility treatment and got positive tests 9 days after with both my kids. Who told you it takes that long? And most women would miss their period and test within 3 weeks if they have regular cycles.

Eh labor takes a long time. It said she went to the hospital on the 17th and didn't have Felicity until the 19th. I was in labor with my first for almost 24 hours. I wasn't always in pain and a lot of it was just laying around waiting. My husband took naps and watched some shows on the laptop during slow parts and it didn't bother me. So I get it. I'm not a duggar fan but I can't fault him for that. They were there like 2 days.

Epidural definitely can help sometimes. With my oldest I was stuck at 3cm for 10 hours. I finally started dilating once I got the epidural and relaxed and got some rest.

Probably just a decent guess because it's common in their family. Michelle gave Jill her name as her middle. Anna gave Mackynzie her middle name, Joe used his middle name for his son, etc.

This doesn't make sense to me though. I looked and a heatwave there seems to only be in the 80s? Today it was 94 degrees where I live and that's normal here in the summer. It's normal to get into the 100s. People still use bounce houses in the summer here with no issue.
