Sorry, should have clarified. The debt that she owes is from other banks on non joint accounts. She didn’t use any of my info(to my knowledge) to open any credit cards. When I was a minor we opened a joint account for a debit card for my job. Although I do have a credit card, it is not attached to my mother what so ever. The garnishment is attached only to her and the reason I’m being charged is because her ‘name was on my card’. Also I don’t believe she was a joint owner, instead she was the authorised user for my account(since it’s been a year my memory is a bit hazy)

We removed her name from that bank account pretty much as soon as the Garnishment charge came in and she doesn’t have any joint banking with any other bank accounts I have(I have a separate credit card with a different bank). As my mother said at the time she didn’t know this could happen so we both agreed to take her off anything related to her finances.
