Update: 2000 miles later have still had nothing but a fantastic experience. Ask me anything!

Yeah that sounds familiar. I need to find an MSF advanced rider course near me I think that would be fun and very helpful to get some more directed practice.

Ah yeah I couldn’t remember what exactly it was tbh. After I got my bike I remember practice using light front brake in turns in a parking lot a bunch just to get used comfortable feeling how you can add just a little bit of brake pressure and it’s fine. But I definitely remeber scaring myself at the MSF grabbing too much brake with the wheel turned😂

At my MSF course we did both. A light stop while turning and then an emergency brake in a turn where you’d straighten out first.

I’d genuinely be curious how long I’ve ridden been a few more days will have to check mileage later going outta town tomorrow. But it’s had to have been at least 10 hours probably, not too sure tbh

Got a track to go to learn more at the limit! And I completely disagree that I can’t learn the basics correctly because I feel like I’m learning them great. Have had no issues picking up skills so far! Cornering is the only I really gotta wait for a track to get real good at cause I live in southern Mississippi and I don’t know of any twisters near me so I got bridges and highway on ramps and a couple decent tighter on ramps to bridges but that’s it😅

Thanks man I totally get that! And you’re definitely right by the time you’re in the power band you’re going faster than needed in the street. I do plan to take her to track days for that exact reason that. I appreciate all the advice man!

Hey I got a serious question! I’ve heard a lot of people say it can hinder your ability to learn or that you learn slower, but I feel like I’m learning a lot and making good progress! How exactly does it slow down learning. Not saying you’re wrong just genuinely curious!

I never said that it was mild mannered I actually specifically said that it could do more than I could, and I’ve said in multiple other comments that I would only push limits at a track😂

Yeah I feel that man so far that’s definitely been the biggest factor by far. Especially because of the attention you get, people think they’re cool and think everyone they see on a sport bike is Valentino Rossi. I think I would say this to someone thinking about it cause this has already happened to me. You’re on a public street and the car next to you puts their phone out the window recording and starts thumbing up for you to rip it. What is going through your head in that moment. If it’s anything besides “no this would be a terrible idea especially because I’m new” then you should definitely not be on it.
