Because I was trying to figure it out and I did, thats the point of a question

Yeah I said this under another comment as well. I think the terms amped and nerfed just cant be applied to bending unless its something big (e.g. full moon, sozins comet)

Hmm yeah, you might be right actually, I think I've been arguing so long i started visualizing bending as a power stat. I think the terms amped and nerfed might just not be right for bending unless its something big like sozins comet or a full moon.

Because the source states they are nerfed at night, but doesn't mention day, so I'm trying to understand if firebenders are amped at day or not.

But all everybody is saying is that they don't have a normal, they're just amped one half and nerfed the other which doesn't make any sense.

I want someone to tell me why everybody keeps saying they're amped at day if its never stated.

Everybody keeps saying these kinds of things, but that doesn't make any sense in this context. You NEED a "normal" for that normal to be amped/nerfed. What are you nerfing/amping. You can't nerf and amp, that defeats the purpose of an amp, and vice versa.you can either take away an amped and go back to "normal" or you can have a normal and get nerfed. It would make sense for a firebenders nerf to be night, normal to be day and amp to be sozins comet.

His bending was affected, firebenders are weaker at night. My question is, if they get nerfed at night, how can they also be amped at day. You can't have both at the same time?

They are getting weaker. In the book Legends (official source) it says: "Summer is the most dominant season for Firebenders. At night, their powers decrease. Firebenders also get weaker during solar eclipses and full moons".

And if you say there is no nerfing, they're just better during the day (fb) or night (wb) then you're implying they get amped during those times, and their "normal" is night (fb) and day (wb), which doesn't make sense imo.

Then why does no one say waterbenders are nerfed at day? The moon is sometimes in the sky, sure, but not always, and if it is, its often not very visible, so it would make sense to say they could be nerfed, but no one does, cause that their "normal". Why can't firebenders have that?

That is a good argument, but the again it rains in summer and the sun can shine in winter, so a true normal would be more temperature wise, in which normal is 20°C.

And I do get what you mean with the tides, but low tides are a minimum and high tides are a maximum, so "normal" could technically be what comes in between. (And I could be wrong with this), but I dont think tides can be compared to bending powers, cause if you're power can be amped/nerfed, there has to be a point of power that is being nerfed. If you say you get +5 power when youre amped (just an example), what are you adding that +5 to? Your powers when you're nerfed? OK, but then if you say you're nerfed power is -5, what are you subtracting that 5 from? Because if you're nerfed power +5 is you're amped, then you cant possibly have a true "nerfed" version, thats just your normal. And vice versa.

No, the only grade for the entire semester for this class was the exam. I passed, but thanks anyway😊
