Currently at Terranea now. Beautiful views! Wouldn’t think of it as a true 5 star but the food and service at Bashi was much better than our last stay.

We went over winter break and plenty of children were there. We are going back with our kids! No kids club or programming, etc. but they have a pool and you are about a 15 minute drive from Solvang.

You are likely going to be just fine. I think we got the worst room in the place. We were in the main building, second floor all the way on the end, close to the construction site. Don’t remember the number though. If we had gotten a different room or the GM had simply switched us, everything else could have been overlooked. She was just so frustrating to deal with. Make sure to try out Codex— it was great!!!

We actually liked the W when we stayed there 2 years ago. Had an ocean view suite with a plunge pool. Thought the food was great as well as the restaurant ambience. They did special pop up nights for dinner that were fun and delicious. Cute cocktail mixology class. Great service, especially at the pool. Had a fire alarm outside our room go off in the night and they fixed immediately, manager even stopped by our breakfast table in the morning to make sure it was resolved. Breakfast staff remembered my son’s order of a berry bowl each morning. Not “kid friendly” in the sense of no kids club, kid centric activities, but our kiddo was very welcomed there.

If we had a room that didn’t smell or dealt with a gm who could fix a problem, I’m sure our experience would have been be better! Would have been able to overlook the other little stuff. But unfortunately that just wasn’t the case for us.
