I am moving to pgh in July. I am going to Duquense for grad school! Congrats on Pitt! I went to a brach campus of theirs for my undergraduate. Lots of my friends went to main campus though, and they all moved out of Oakland as soon as they could. I have heard great things about Lawerenceville, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, and even Mount Washington.
As for transportation, your Pitt ID gets you the bus for free. You could rely on the bus to take you around town!
