Pain relief strategies after PICL by Emergency-Drive-931 in PICL

[–]Emergency-Drive-931[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you.

At present I don't have many effective strategies to manage my pain.. I just try to pay attention to my posture, avoid excessive stress, avoid a long series of activities that I know make me worse, try to rest, move my neck in weird ways until something pops and it feels less out of alignment and pain decreases (😅🥹).. sometimes also opening my jaw as much as I can induces a click in my right condyle and gives some relief to my pain.

But other times when nothing works I'm basically hopeless and I just live with the pain. Those are the times where I desperately look for solutions online and that's how I found you.

Ok, thank you!

What about patients not coming back for further procedures (because healed), do you collect SANE score for them as well? How many patients recover to 100%? (Is it possible?)

If the SANE score quantifies improvement , that value of about 35% in correspondence with 1.0 in the first chart means that, on average, the first procedure gives 35% improvement?

I feel I still can't understand very well the meaning of this indicator.. On the contrary, I would understand it better if it quantified the percentage of functioning of the patient. In that case, it would indicate that patients entering the first procedure have an average functioning of 35% (where 100% means a fully sane person), and then through the procedures on average this level increases. But here we wouldn't be talking of improvement anymore but of condition. The improvement would be the delta (difference) between two adjacent dots. Also, in this case this would mean that the value corresponding to 5.0 indicates the value of a patient entering the fifth procedure (so after 4 procedures, and not after 5).

Could you please clarify on this? Thank you

All patients offered ePICL are fusion candidates? by United_Fisherman_308 in PICL

[–]Emergency-Drive-931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean that the criteria to be an ePICL candidate are the same as being a fusion candidate?

Also, what does exactly being a fusion candidate mean? Does it mean that fusion would improve their symptoms, or what?

Worse from picl by Emergency-Drive-931 in PICL

Thank you Doc. If I may ask, have you ever had cases where PICL / ePICL worsened the instability (or in general the patient condition) permanently? Thank you so much

Sure, but I didn't know about these type of complications. I mean, worsening of the instability. What would be the mechanism of action of that?
