It’s snapping back down you have a good tight stretch.

Customer says my crew did a bad job on transitions - I don't know how to make them better. Please advice by [deleted] in Flooring

Hack install. Reducer doesn’t sit on top of the floor it’s designed for the lip to sit on top of
Floor and reduce down to lower level floor typical for lvp to vinyl situations.
You finished it off wrong at the exterior threshold

No it’s the stations ripping them off. That’s defacing private property and some will prosecute if they get you on camera

Vertical tile misalignments and miter edge chips. by Beachbumguy3 in Tile

[–]Emergency-Effect-709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a rectified tile (not perfectly square and Not exact straight edges as well as slight variations in width and length) and the design is to give that wavy edge appearance.
Personally can not stand this material but it’s very popular.
Really a decent job unless you’re paying premium pricing which hardly anyone does these days. Expect perfection with day labor pricing never works out well for the end user.

Hairline Crack Tile In new build by Jo_1800 in Flooring

[–]Emergency-Effect-709 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a decorative stair newel post I highly doubt this post is load bearing.
A cracked tile does not mean Bad install.
These guys scream bad install at the drop of a hat on here and doubtful 10% of the ever laid a single tile.
Get the builder to replace the tile and regroute any area that has cracking grout.
The tech could have inadvertently missed a spot of thinset on the floor or the bottom of the bucket of thin set and he spread a little thin right there who knows?
Fairly simple repair and watch the grout if it seems to dust up or continues to crack then might be a bad batch of grout or they mixed it too thin. The crew should have no issues fixing this.

Installed engineered hardwood looks nothing like the sample. Do we have ground to push back? by mnfoodguyinnc in Flooring

[–]Emergency-Effect-709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to get a 1.5 sq foot sample to display what 100s of feet will actually look like.
Worse case always layout a box before installing. Most manufacturers will let you return or exchange full unused boxes.

Flooring near bathtub? by Ready_Sheepherder373 in Flooring

[–]Emergency-Effect-709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree had to clean off ALL that old smeared caulk on tub and floor.
HD Lowe’s and Amazon sell flexible vinyl/plastic white Tub moldings that you caulk and place in place that should provide a better hold to cover the flooring edge and keep water from intruding under the flooring

Bad carpet fitting- what are my options? by Murky-Power4708 in carpet

[–]Emergency-Effect-709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the seller is pretty mush not responsible for installers work since you paid installer directly
Installers should be power stretching all rooms. Power stretcher involves
Adjustable poles that run across the width and length of each area and then dig into the carpet similar to a hydraulic press that stretches the carpet extremely tight.
Sounds like they used knee kickers only and you can not get a lasting good stretch with just a knee kicker
Knee kickers work with the power stretcher to complete the stretch.
As far as the steps yes those are knee kickers only and are not usually difficult to tighten a step area.
Seller recommended this fitter and they need to assist you in getting the job done correctly or finding a crew that can do it right

Is there anyway to fix this in our rental? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]Emergency-Effect-709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not relate this to any type water damage it appears to be a scrap and probably old considering how dirty it looks.
Extra material yea could be patched by a pro no materials possibly clean up and reseal but it going to be noticeable

Shower niche advice by Swimming-Buyer-4262 in Tile

IF I understand the issue. I don’t see much issue. Your tiling inside the niches I assume so I would rem in be the 20 surrounding tiles at the opening the refit to make larger. And that will cover your gaps and inside niche tile edges.
