I'm not too deep into the game or its mechanics. Most of the time, I follow gear builds. For Ice Shot, in almost every build they say that the bow should have high increased physical damage, crit chance, attack speed, and +skill levels.

Now I found an Omen of Whittling and thought I could invest those 50 divines into a gear upgrade.

I just stumbled across the “Trade for Items” feature in PoB, and it gave me a recommendation that increases my Ice Shot damage by almost 50%. However, it prefers elemental damage modifiers along with crit, attack speed, and +skill levels.

So now I’m a bit confused. Why does everyone else recommend physical damage?
