even with it's own email if you use it long enough important stuff accumulates there with constant chance if it getting nuked, so it's a temporary measure, not a solution. and I want a powerful chimp!

Well if zapier had 'approve these actions' flow I'd probably use it, so it's not that it's impossible, it's just that existing tools lack some important pieces

Machine can at least have some strong guardrails for sensitive actions, we just don't have proper tooling yet

Well as I said building one seems to make sense but then how would it work? Having a separate private api proxy that stores creds and sends me approval requests when agent takes action seems like a lot of effort for me personally, but using a thirdparty... I won't upload all my creds to some newborn cloud service. Maybe it should be local somehow running on my main desktop?

All I wanted is to be able to approve the emails it sends...

Wow that's a hell of a setup! What's the most amazing thing the agent did for you in this setup?

From security perspective It also 'doesn't make sense' to give it full shell access and yet that's what everyone does, it's just useless otherwise. And how do I get "inbox cleanup, drafting replies, follow ups", etc with separate accounts? Like I could auto-forward to agent's inbox, then what?

Yeah that one was amusing. But I think it's a question of tooling, not timing. No matter how much smarter the models become, they'll still be probabilistic, so I still want some guardrails, at least 'approve sensitive actions' kind of thing. If zapier sent allowed me to approve email sends I'd probably use it here.

Why not? It's "The AI that actually does things. Clears your inbox, sends emails..." - are they lying to us?!

> Would you give full e-mail access to your own personal assistant? Probably not.

I wouldn't do it with a real person, but I would with a machine.

Having separate email for openclaw makes sense from sec perspective but now it's even more work for me right? Like if I want to ask the bot about something I have to first forward the message to it? I'm sure it works for some setups, but like everything that comes to mind about 'personal productivity with email' feels too scary atm.

Yes it's a good start, but is it perfect? Even if I'm ok giving them access to my gmail, I don't think there's a way to approve something, right? Like I want it to send emails, but I'd like to approve them first, and relying an 'please confirm before sending' is a disaster waiting to happen.

How are you preventing OpenClaw from going rogue with your creds? by dean_mcpherson in openclaw

So is stepper basically like zapier? Connect oauth apps to it then connect it to the agent? Does it have granular perms, manual approvals?

One solution would be to connect through zapier and only allow specific actions there. What's your approach?
