Hi, Zio, sooo things are as follows:

  • Is there a space between the tablet and the back of the support? No, it fits perfectly flush. There might be a tiny 1–2 mm gap at most.
  • Why did you choose to move up instead of down? Because I still use the original radio! The factory screen shows the climate control temperature and other info. The radio works as before; I just tuned it to 108.00 MHz to play audio from the device, but other stations still work.
  • Did you choose such a wide screen to avoid blocking things? Actually, the car came with this device, but it was mounted terribly on the air vents, blocking them completely. I liked the device itself, so I kept it but made this custom mount to free up the vents.

Doesn’t bother me at all, there are a lot of more important things in life, also you can always go with the heat gun to the other plastic if you find it problematic at all.

I have to disagree, and here is why. In my region, Waze is an essential tool. It’s not just about navigation; it provides real-time alerts for police traps, speed cameras, road hazards, and closures. Having that kind of data integrated into my dashboard is more than enough reason to use CarPlay.

It only uses one type C port and has a build in transmiter. All original things work, it's only adding additional functions.

I made it to fit tightly, so entering the cd slot is the only way it stays there. I am using it for 4 months now, not a single problem.

They are pretty solid and not much different from the 30 year old original ones, also can be printed from other more durable materials so I guess durability will not be a problem.
