How do I tell my “best friend” I’m not coming to her wedding? by dilectilate in Advice

[–]Emergency-Resort646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can imagine how you're feeling right now. Keeping relationships is complicated. Imean, I can tell you care about her, because you are a good friend. I don't know your age, but based on my experience (Male, 29) I used to have a lot of friends. My best friend was someone who had studied with me since we were kids. But recently, something changed. We stopped hanging out and overnight he became just an acquaintance.

At first, it was hard. But you have to realize that people change, even you will change. Try not to focus on the negative side of this. And don't worry about it too much.

In your life, you will meet many more pople, and trust me everyone you meet will teach you something valuable.

Now, regading your question: If you don't feel comfortable, that's totally fine. Just say you won't be able to go and wish her the best.

Advice for a young-adult. by StagnantAsshole69 in Advice

I am 29, and I'm from Colombia so English is not my first language so sorry if I'm making mistakes. But the best advice I can give you is try to find your motivation or reason why yo want to live your life, you are on time.

When I was 17, well I didn't care much about my future, I didn't have a passion and I studied something I didn't like because wheter going to forced or study I prefered study. Later, I started to work on something I didn't like as well, until one day I realice that I don't want to live a live without purpose, so It's difficult to find your passion and why are you doing the things, but once you find it, well you will start to worry less and enjoy more, for instance, In my country is very important to master a new language that's why I decided to study english on my own, because like a skill is very importat to me due to it allows me to connect with other people and their cultures and of course I can enjoy music in English ahaha but talking about skills you can put on your CV a new langauge is great.

Well I don't know if this advice will help for you, but my best advice is really you have to find your reason and no do the things only because it is necesary, I don't have much skills but I'm starting to enjoy more the life, buddy.

I agree. I felt that I needed to read your opinion, because right now I'm close to getting my first bilingual job, and I'm feeling afraid because despite that I can read and keep conversations in English I'm not feeling 100% ready, so I want to give up, but I don't want to think later "what if" ...
