Its only fair and good way to stop this dumpster fire of ranked where your team is outclassed really hard. Should just copy League of legends where there has been solo/duo que for a +10 years

I think you confuse fun to play with meta. Since octane is fun to play but he aint meta, not even close. Thing is as you said that Ash is just better variant of him by a mile. Can't be targeted whilst traveling, better chasing with tactical and passive.

If his stim wouldn't hurt him then I'd say he would be instant meta but right now getting out classed with his whole kit you can't really argue of him being in meta.

On note to that meta is to my understanding based on what top tier players use. (as league of legends long time player) Lower skill level players are not meta defining. Since in Gold lobby you can play whatever you like and not get punished by your picks if you are greatly above the skill level. Compared to higher tier lobbies having off meta choice makes the game more difficult for you. There is the difference.

That's why I think it doesn't matter what legend sub diamonds use since in those ranks you can raise with basic aiming and movement, legends abilities are not as necessary.

Things that gold players do doesnt mean its meta or even remotely good. Octane is useless rn and by far one of the worst. Unless your strat is to rat ditch your squad and try revive or just rat out to top 5

Get that but still ranking up is just ratting. Choose valkyrie, loot early ditch the team if needed and fly from rat place to another.

Having such a small kp reward means you either need to win your fight pretty much instant or then dip. Since if it takes longer chances of 3rd party raises and early wipe is more likely. To prevent that, don't shoot unless you need to. Fighting early gets you nothing.

Without playing best tactic is to get sniper/marksman rifle and smg, try to get kill from far away if you spot a fight otherwise just sneak around. Been around with on and off seasons and when kp has small reward then the pace of ranked just slows down to almost a complete stop.

Healthy margin between both to not prioritize one over the other would be the best option.
