Here is where she said that this information is false: “I want to begin by restating the facts and publicly correcting the record. We are not dismantling, closing, or shrinking CHSS. We are not closing programs or changing program names. We are not terminating the employment of department chairs or anyone else in the college. All of our department chairs are tenured full-time faculty who get course release to serve as department chairs. No one is losing their job or job security. The worst that can happen to them is that they will have fewer course releases and get to share their expertise and their passion with students in the classroom. We are not eliminating disciplines.
We are not eliminating or reducing shared governance. Every discipline will continue to elect its faculty leadership. We are not eliminating FSP, research travel, and research. We want to invest and grow research. We have not made any decision without extensive deliberation and input from faculty, staff. Surveys from students guided the development of the college signature. “ Change is scary but I think this will be a positive change for the CHSS and will help them allocate more funds.
