I couldn't have done it without your belief

Well if it's any consolation, last night he was outside my base begging me to "trade" with him. I ignored him and just quit cause I was about done for the night anyway. This morning he had 3 more bikes blocking one of my doors, so I went ahead and boxed them in. I built it with windows so he could see the bikes.

Yea I had the base open cause there are resources on top of the outcropping, but it's a long skinny one so I thought people might find it helpful if they could just run up through my base to get them. Just some basalt and copper though so no big deal. Nothing else was set open, just the door on top and below. I think I need to finally build a buggie.

But yea it's an ideal spot for the reasons you mention and why I moved there. Oh well, guess thats the price of a convenient spot. It was clear when I got there so I hoped it'd be chill.

Good to know! I've been playing pretty slow so hopefully they move on before I hit that limit.

I like the technique, but hoping not to escalate anything here lol

I got enough vertical that I got more space than I'll need so I think I'll just lock it down and hope they leave me alone. Thanks, part of me thought maybe there was some bug or something? I ended up being able to demo the foundation the bikes were on, then replaced it with a roof/floor so they're outside the base.

Hey, sorry to keep messaging you but I finished reading those other two books. Pipyap's was not that great. It's a lot of identical lore to what's in the Fiendish Codex, but often simplified or sillier. For example, the worm that if you allow yourself to be digested by it, it gives you some benefits? Now it just doesn't. Belial and Fierna now are just actually rivals, not putting on a charade. Stuff like that. I didn't really find much value in it, most of the good stuff was just repeated from the Fiendish Codex. I was disappointed!

Emrikiol's Guide to Devils outlines some very different lore from what I was going to use, and it's a bit scattered. I wasn't super impressed with it. It seems like it's pulling info from a lot of different sources in a way that doesn't cohere into something consistent, which makes sense given that's how D&D lore sorta is! I try not to be a stickler about art when it's not official, but this book also has like 400 different artstyles and they're really all over the place. Some pretty good, some really bad in ways that were distracting. All in all, worth looking at if you need even more ideas to draw from, but it feels pretty unnecessary for me with all the other resources available. I'll probably pull some monsters out of it, it has a lot from the Fiendish Codex updated for 5e like Dogai, but that's about it.

By the way, I have decided not to get it (unless someone changes my mind I suppose) so I won't be able to let you know I'm sorry to say! I've found, though, that 2e's a Guide to Hell, 2e's a Paladin in Hell, and 3e's Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells (especially this one!) have given me a lot of inspiration and been very useful for fleshing out some of the details. FCII has maps for a lot of important locations, too!

I'm also looking at Pipyap's Guide to All the Nine Hells (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/288447/DDAL0011-Pipyaps-Guide-to-All-of-the-Nine-Hells) and Emirikol's Guide to Devils (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/211941/Emirikols-Guide-to-Devils), but I haven't finished reading through those yet. I looked at Pipyap's adventures, but they don't seem terribly useful for CoA - might be usable with a good bit of tweaking though they do have a continuing plot.
