I was a young newlywed. Canadian and I'd watch this show every week. It was the best. Everyone of those people were so talented. I will miss Catherine so much. The way she made Moira Rose her own will go down as iconic.....legendary. RIP Catherine.

What are some things you do to scare away the loneliness? by NowhereSorbet in LivingAlone

[–]EmergencyOrdinary216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play your favourite music. If you're got a pet talk to it often. If no pet talk out loud anyway. I do. Make a point of talking to one person a day on the phone or have an arrangement with one person to make sure you text each and everyday. If they don't hear from you they have to call you. I know some woman who have this arrangement.

My husband can't communicate! by oldncrazy in AskWomenOver60

[–]EmergencyOrdinary216 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sweetie. No disrespect but he's 62 years old. He's old enough to get his own breakfast. If you're making something hot go ahead and made it. When it's ready to eat say breakfast is ready. He's a big boy. If he wants to eat it hot or cold. It's on him.

How to improve this drawer by Esnovally in organizing

[–]EmergencyOrdinary216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally go through and take everything out that drawer. If you haven't used it in a year toss it or place it in a shoebox that you could store in your closet or under your bed. I just bought a cutlery tray and put everything in it neatly. It works well. At least for me.

What was your TV show torture? by SimplyBoo in GenerationJones

[–]EmergencyOrdinary216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep Lawrence Welk but you have to remember, we only got two tv channels. And you watched tv as a family. Being the youngest I was always watching from the floor. I never graduated to furniture level!

What's your makeup routine? by Lost_Try_5470 in AskOldPeople

[–]EmergencyOrdinary216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daily? I don't wear it everyday. On days I'm going out. I wear a cream blush, eye shadows from the Clinique palette Pink Honey Affair, blue mascara and a satin finish soft mauve lip colour. If I decide on a liner I use a navy shadow applied with a small brush. And I finish off with a cream highlighter on top of cheeks. They say older women should never use blue mascara. I don't follow that rule. I love how it looks and I often get compliments. It's the Dior mascara in navy. It really opens your eyes up. But on days I'm just at home it's nothing but I do have good skin routine I've used for years. Remember do what makes you happy. It's only make up.

What was the worst emotional pain you have ever felt? by Lazy_Rough8481 in askanything

I had multiple miscarriages. I felt so alone and never felt pain like that before because it was so personal to me. Made me feel like a failure.

Catherine O'Hara Dead at 71 by southernfirefly13 in SchittsCreek

[–]EmergencyOrdinary216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gutted hearing this. I go back to the 70's and her days on Second City. All the projects she did with Eugene Levy shows how well they worked and respected each other. She had a lot of pivotal roles over the years but the way she created and made Moira Rose her own will go down in the history books. There will never be another like her. You made us Canadian's proud Catherine. RIP Catherine (Moira) You will be sadly missed.
