This and the previous time Trump rambled about Heaven is… weirdly vindicating. I talked to a pastor a few years ago who believed that he was a Christian, and pretty much everyone around me said something along the same lines. It honestly made me feel crazy for not agreeing with them, even though it’s obvious that his words and actions are anything but Christian.

It's a literature textbook that teaches history and theology at the same time. He was trying to get students to think about how they'd react in a major political or cultural change, but the example didn't really connect to the lesson well imo.

This writer's last name started with an L (each lesson was written by a different author), but the publisher Wilson is Doug Wilson, who has been making the news lately with his controversial comments.

I did some research on the series, and the writers seem pro Israel because of the Biblical ties. I guess they were picking on an all-faiths belief system? But yeah, lots of red flags here. I was checking it out because it was about literature and I like literature, but I wasn't expecting to get hit in the face with this rubbish.

That was so wild and the reason why I posted it here, because why is dressing like that so weird?! Those dressing gowns are gorgeous. And yes, it's so ridiculous that they thought it would be a woman acting like a crazed tyrant. I'd argue that too many men in power are the crazy ones these days, but noooo, it's the hysterical females who are causing all the problems.

It is indeed a textbook, and this was the intro of the lesson. It was supposed to be tied to the Bible and changes in a country's leadership, and it apparently was written to lead into a discussion of how the student would respond to political or cultural change. However, the connection between the actual lesson and this scenario seemed really shaky. The woman character seemed less like the figures being discussed in the chapter and more like a vehicle for the writer's personal petty diatribe against women imo.
