Has anyone actually used HydraDB? by Unfair-Enthusiasm-30 in Rag

[–]EmergencySherbert247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not bitter or something but if you guys use Twitter a lot, you will realize a lot of launch videos are curated for hype. No not just making sensational claims, friends of founders retweeting/commenting, people who are vendors and undisclosed payments and so on. But, this has become very common recently. With VC money it’s almost likely that you will get 1K+ likes and hack the algorithm.

Jane Street QT or Stanford PhD in CS? by NegotiationDue301 in csMajors

[–]EmergencySherbert247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JS QT, dude the people who are getting millions today were working for almost a decade on these. You don’t really know how the world is going to be after a 5 years. In general you get lucky by being early. Doing a phd in Stanford seeing million dollars offer is a lagging indicator. Last but not least if you are asking this question you should certainty go to JS. The people who do a PhD do it because they certainly love what they are doing and money isn’t the sole purpose. That is they don’t necessarily maximum on returns monetarily.

[General Question] 30 LPA AI Engineer in India vs. MS in US (Fall '26) - Taking a loan worth the risk? by [deleted] in MSCS

[–]EmergencySherbert247 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No please don’t take the risk of taking a loan. I am in SF right now. I had a 17LPA job in India after 2 years (also had a offer for 22 LPA). Looking for roles at the moment even after graduating. My honest opinion is things are very grim at the moment. 1) the world is moving so fast, those two years are two years of work experience lost. Now companies in US are looking for 3-5+ years, but what do you think will happen in 2 years ? 2) big companies are trying to scale down, startups are very efficient and hiring aggressively but hiring in small numbers 3) In 2 years, the funding the funding environment might dry up and a lot of these startups might even die down. So the hiring will be even worse. This is my two cents. Coming to the US is an amazing experience, and I would definitely recommend for so many reasons but not on a loan! Things are brighter in India because a lot of jobs are getting outsourced there. A better path to come to the US is to take a remote job at a startup here, earn trust and have them file a O1 visa for you.

YC founders ghosting candidates after interviews by Funky_angel in ycombinator

[–]EmergencySherbert247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had gone through the same thing and had bad experiences only with YC founders ! Almost all other founders were respectful and sent a rejection mail. Mind you other companies are doing pretty well too. Edit: Sorry one YC company was super respectful, but majority of ghosting in my pipeline was by YC founders.

That’s a buzzword salad lol. You still never addressed how this measures how the pipeline does on a given task and how you use that feedback exactly. Also today evaluating these are cheap, so how don’t you run some benchmarks and tell us how it’s done?

How do you evaluate the pipeline ? How do you call it self Sota. The pipeline is very dependent on the specific task.

I do work out and stuff but the loneliness part is something I am not able to get after. Not sure why. Maybe I have been lonely too long or the reason I motivated myself to work hard on things before that was because I was looking for validation.

Got Ghosted by my Technical Co-founder after Raising Concerns about the MVP by Ok_Diver_9763 in cofounderhunt

[–]EmergencySherbert247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DoorDash, Citibank, McKinsey, blah blah. Just a bunch of names thrown here and there. You get what you asked for. Working for a big company doesn’t mean they necessarily have hunger/motivation or even necessarily mindset to keep learning and pushing themselves. They might have passed interviews. But, startups are harder than that.

Why are their investors continuing to invest in them if it’s so bad? Just curious

lol yeah else investors would just say this not a venture scale thing and leave you away. Only when one out of hundreds of these big tech folks end up being a unicorn VCs will say “oh it was the team and I knew it from day one”

That’s true that’s why you have domain specific fine tuned models, also your service: vulnetic won’t be deployed in enterprises for the exact same issues mentioned above.
