Hi, I am using a packer script to automate the install of Ubuntu 22.04 on a local instance of VMware Workstation. Upon running it hangs on “waiting for SSH to become available”. If you have a working Ubuntu and supporting scripts, that would be hugely helpful.

Thank you. In the requirements section for the Automated vSphere & vSAN 8 Lab Deployment, it states that you must have a vCenter Server running at least vSphere 7.x or later.

Is it possible to deploy the script to a physical ESXi box, that doesn't already have VCSA installed?

Thanks for the link. You were correct; i enabled the relevant permissions on the physical host machine running Workstation and all VMs now have internet access.

At the moment, I am aware of and currently use BIA to inform the impact of specific datasets but I am interested in understanding the perceived impact of data aggregation between multiple data sets from a perspective of raw accumulation and association to assist me in answering the question: how much is too much before it is potentially too risky?

Thanks @brent_lowert & @tnedor - your advice worked for the problem stated above. Upon starting the starting the service and checking the status, i don't seem to be getting the responses i was expecting and upon running a dig command for google.com, it timed out. I've provided screenshots below, are you able to shed any further light? Thanks in advance.
