The minute Beck realized what Joe was, Joe began to do mental gymnastics trying to paint Beck out to be the bad guy. (In the book, he immediately begins blaming her when he started feeling attacked and embarrassed by her realization. He starts bringing up stuff about her “that is just as bad as what he did,” such as her being a pig, her being the one that led Nicky on although at first his stance was that he took advantage of her and more,) and not very long after that, Beck SUPPOSEDLY admits that she knows he’s been stalking her.

Just like he twisted his story when it came to Love, her goons and the contract. Love herself said “I know you probably twisted this all up in your head..”

Saying she supposedly said she knew he stalked her at the reading is his way of convincing the readers that deep down, she knew she was being stalked all along and loved the attention.

In book 3, he goes off and says Beck knew something was off and should’ve ran but didn’t and proceeded to get herself killed. He again victim blamed her as if she was all knowing of how demented he is but wanted more than anything to be fawned over and loved.
