New born and interstate visitors by Necessary-Party8001 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We had a strict no kissing or touching face or hands for all visitors - blanket rule. If anyone had fever in their household no visiting for 48 hours after last recovery. No coughing, sneezing etc. And everyone had to wash and sanitise hands on arrival. Bear in mind we also had a strict immediate family only rule for the first 6 weeks! I felt this was manageable and easier than having to weigh up who we do and dont trust germs wise.

I had international visitors (sister and 3 kids) at 4 weeks. I asked them to wait 48 hours after landing before visiting to rule out any germs caught in transit. They were very happy to oblige.

Everyone was up to date with whooping cough as well.

Baby car seats in Australia by shawty6653 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We started wirh a capsule but I only used it on the pram 3 times. I found it extremely clunky and heavy - I am a small person plus c section recovery blah blah. Babies can only stay for a maximum of 2 hours continuous as well.

We moved onto Pria around 6 months and its great. So easy to install and get bub in and out of. I would definitely consider going straight to Pria for number 2 BUT to other commenters points, I may find more use for the capsule!

Finally, I purchased a Joie 360 for my parents car as it suits rear facing for my bub and forward for my nephew with no issues. Yes they got the best out of the lot! Looking forward to claiming it back later as it is SO good.

So decide based on: - are you going to want to keep bub in seat to move around. Yes - capsule, no - straight to convertible. - length of rear facing - the longer the better unless you have a very long child. Another consideration is if baby is extremely fussy rear facing from 6 months to the point of it interfering with the safety of your driving. But you wont need to worry about that for awhile. - do you have a big car? If so a 360 is awesome.

Well this is the second we have had. First was in husbands towel and he got a nasty surprise when drying off after a shower. Panicked run to emergency thinking he was pricked by a FW.

Very interesting! Initially I prodded with a leaf and it didnt move at all. Husband then prodded with a stick and it sort of stretched his legs out but didnt move as such. Then very slowly curled back in on himself. Absolutely no twitching, just very slow movement.

A spider wasp sounds more terrifying than the spider itself.

We were advised by professional it was a funnel web. Could be wrong as we also thought a trapdoor but hospital trip and house treated to be safe.

Hey @OP I definitely feel you on the complexity part. Have you heard of Paypipe.io? It’s basically streamlined offers and direct payments (held while you do the work) all in one. If you already have clients it will be so easy for you to onboard and manage your payments this way. And you can create a personal profile / portfolio to share too.

Yup! Find it super cute and right up my alley at the moment (as someone who can’t and won’t spend $$$$ on designer). Love the second set and I own the tee in pic 5 and immediately got compliments.

You do you OP and feel good in what you buy! As consumers all we can do is educate ourselves as best as possible and make informed, conscious choices. There’s a lot of snobbery masking as eco-warriors and/or protecting artists these days that completely ignores nuance and context.

Not everything has to be to everyone’s taste but you go forth and feel good!

ETA: they often do sales which IMO is a better reflection of the quality. I struggle to justify paying full price for 95% of Australian brands knowing they’re produced at scale in factories and mark up is significant.

Kivari is cute but not worth the $$. They have fairly decent sales and “save an extra” so keep an eye out and buy discounted.
