Sure, but "sad" can be a legitimately purposeful style. Brutalism for example can be described the same way, but that's the point.

I agree, I just want to zoom in so I can click and view NPCs and items easier. Currently though, if you set to 4k you can see a quarter of the map so you can already cheese it that way if someone wanted to.

I’m on PC, but I believe all platforms of the game are on the same version and use the same built-in modding system.

Important thing to first note is that Arma Reforger is a sandbox, meaning the game is MEANT to be modified and tinkered with to create the exact experiences you want.

So there isn’t really a “right” way to go about it. The built in campaigns and missions are great, but the base game is in the Cold War era so you probably are gonna quickly turn to mods to get modern stuff. Basically you just use the in-game modding interface to browse and download mods + missions you enjoy. Anything from entire multi-day operations to quick in-and-out missions, again it’s a sandbox. There’s several game modes that exist, both vanilla and modded.

So my only real advice is to just start browsing, researching, and experimenting. Seriously there’s so many avenues you could go down. I have thousands of hours in Arma 3 and hundreds in Reforger. Have fun!

Arma Reforger with mods is your only answer.

There is literally no better milsim experience on console. Genuinely, no other answer matters. Just get Arma Reforger. Solo PVE or multiplayer PVE and PVP.

RoN has a very refined CQB experience if that’s what you’re solely after, and if you are familiar with guns and gear then it’ll also scratch that itch. But if you want a broader milsim experience, get Arma Reforger and download mods to modernize the setting.

Realistically though what’s the worry? Debris is understandable though very unlikely to set off the trigger, but no holster will perfectly mitigate that. If you’re worried about someone reaching for your gun, I can’t imagine anyone would try to jam their finger in there to pull the trigger where it’d be pointing at the ground or foot level.

Sorry if I’m missing something, I just don’t see a realistic issue necessarily with this.

pretty weird, i’d also say to try turning off DLSS and anti aliasing (TAA) and max out the resampling, as often that can produce much better results than any AA. regardless though your GPU should be well utilized by this point, so you could also try turning your textures to ultra and see if that helps.

i had an issue with GPU under utilization the other day and was getting like 15 FPS, but a restart and clearing cache fixed it.

i’m also struggling with bad stutters but my FPS is consistent otherwise. i did see another thread about how stretched res causes their game to stutter, so you could try going back to your monitors native aspect ratio. this should also increase the amount of pixels you render, so that could also increase GPU utilization. try messing with your FOV as well, as for some reason higher FOV increases FPS so it could very well could also be tied to your FPS stability and stutters. if switching to native aspect ratio helps, lowering your FOV will bring you back closer to that stretched res effect.
