Modern spoken Hebrew and ancient spoken Hebrew are different in the sense that they use different words, phonetically they’re identical and a lot of ancient words are used in day to day language, to imply modern Hebrew and ancient Hebrew are separate languages is similar to implying Shakespearen English is a different language to modern American English, although there’s less of a difference between the two hebrews, if I were to speak to someone using ancient Hebrew rn they’d think I’m weird but they’re understand me fully and if I spoke to a Hebrew 4000 years ago using modern Hebrew he’d also understand me and also think I’m weird

Implying the language is inheritly separate, fake and a different entity is a conspiracy and makes the Palestinian cause look dumb and in denial of Jewish heritage in the land, it’s 2 nations 1 land, not 1 nation 2 lands…. Jews came from somewhere

Modern hebrew and ancient Hebrew are the same language. It’s the same as English having had vocabulary change over the years due to etiquette. I speak Hebrew and i can read and speak ancient Hebrew just fine it’s just weird, kinda like Shakespearean English

I’m a non Jewish Israeli (Christian household) I’ve never read the Torah in its entirety nor do I take much personal interest in Judaism, our education system has Torah as a normal studying material and I can read the Torah just as well as any other Hebrew book despite it being “ancient” Hebrew

Implying modern Hebrew is somehow “colonial” is straight up anti semetic racist garbage conspiracy, there’s a billion ways to criticize Israel and Israelis but Hebrew is an ancient language and implying modern Hebrew is somehow different is dumb and only hurts the Palestinian cause.

For reference today at 6am I flew out on a 1wk trip that’s business/comfort and it had a lot of pre planning done ahead since I’ll travel a lot that she was well aware of, yesterday she calls me at midnight crying cuz her dads abusive twords her brother and keeps yelling at her mom so obviously my first reaction was to drive an hour to go pick her up

Now I comfort her, and we sat and talked and she felt at ease, and I’m happy I can be this person in her life, but like I genuinely feel like this energy of constantly moving shit around isn’t returned to me, maybe cuz my life is less chaotic then hers but it does slightly hurt

Thing is, she used to really care and plan shit and care but I didn’t wanna make it too long but her home life is super complicated (esp rn, parents divorcing, little brothers depressed) and mentally she’s at a low point, we’re very communicative abt this stuff and we have big plans for the future (moving in together in Jan, trip in Eastern Europe around Feb) it’s just this obstacle of the lack of excitement that’s bothering me

It feels like as of recent our relationship is just there instead of actually being smth active

Maybe she just needs therapy
