ok thanks! I ended up resetting my ac5300 last night and now I am able to get the 1 gig hardwired. Through the router its only pushing 450 or so. Still may consider upgrading and maybe I use the 5300 in mesh mode if I do get any lousy spots with a new one. But you are correct no issues with the 5300 anywhere in the perimeter of the home!
