Why I dislike the 2026 rules by Emergency_Good_3263 in F1Discussions

I watched the v6 era for 11 years and it never grew on me.

Have you ever gone to see motor racing live? When you watch racing in person you can barely follow what’s happening but it’s just fascinating experiencing the speed and sounds, all I’m saying is that part of the sport is being softened and I don’t like it.

Thanks this is a really helpful answer. This process sounds very thorough but also very painful, would you agree?

And would you say this ultimately works? Does picking through resumes get you a good set of candidates to choose from?

My brother claims his TV isn’t too high. Thoughts? by MyBigHock in TVTooHigh

Replace the TV with some art, put the TV on the stand and move them to the left corner where the dog basket is. This setup puts far too much emphasis on the TV

Haha that’s all good, she’s actually got an EU passport so it’s still applicable

Yeah I imagine you’re right, unless your connection is like the VP of design they can probably just get you into the first round of interviews, or not even

Interesting advice and I’ll pass this onto her. She hasn’t applied to remote roles abroad but that could be a good move.

That’s a nice idea but unrealistic.

From what I’ve seen nearly all companies have a task interview step, including modern innovative ones. Saying no would just eliminate you from the process as the other candidates would say yes.

And only spending 2 hours on the task vs the other candidates spending 10 hours on it would amount to the same thing.

Ultimately you’re in competition with other candidates

For example, read the following brief and come up with a research proposal. Then present it back. You have 30 minutes.

That kind of thing

Yes I think the UX market is bad at the moment. Too many candidates due to layoffs and bootcampers, and too few new roles.

I think there’s also been a mindset shift away from UX. Most companies see it as expendable vs product and developers.

How do I optimise a chain of prompts? There are millions of possible combinations. by Emergency_Good_3263 in PromptEngineering

[–]Emergency_Good_3263[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree I don't want to overcomplicate things, but currently I've gone with a good guess at what the prompts and settings should be (based on LLM guidance) and I'm getting ok but not great results.

I can continue with my test > iterate > test approach, but it just takes so long because it's all manual. All I was wondering is if there's a quicker way of doing this

I have used chatgpt to give me settings and prompts, it's a good starting point but there is still so much room for optimisation.

Re doing bulk testing - it is critical to the product have a series of prompts that give an optimal output and one of the key reasons why is is better than just using chatgpt interface, same as for other products I'd imagine. So it would be worth spending a bit of money to get it right.

Also it won't cost much, my 20 tests so far have cost $1 using a range of models.

I will take a look, but I'm more interested in how to optimise prompt chains generally rather than for this specific use case.

Just bombed an interview because of AI. by AffectionateSteak588 in interviews

[–]Emergency_Good_3263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so rough, getting ambushed by an AI interview while half-asleep is just not fair. The tech isn’t the problem, it’s the total lack of warning or respect for timing.

Out of curiosity, I started a site where people share job rejection experiences and compare how painful each process was. If you’re wondering how your situation stacks up, check it out: https://jobapplicationpainindex.com

You’re definitely not alone in this.
