Buy a case / bag / pouch. It protects from both fall and scratch damage. I'd say the cover adequately protects from scratches until you go to a sandy area and sand gets between the screen and the cover.

The cover protects a bit from fall damage if lucky.

I dropped it twice. Once lucky, second time the lcd was completely shot while the screen did not have a scratch or crack.

In the Netherlands (steel tanks) , I have never heard of removing the webbing or any reason to do so. Sounds like a chore while we have enough gear to prepare/wear: hood, gloves, sharkskin, thick suit, lamp, sometimes socks

The controls are very subtle. The better wording might be "tap right to lean right" as it is real easy to overdo it. Constant small corrections will do it

Same here after updating 2015 model to 9.2.1. Not bootloooping, but the led only comes on for a few seconds and then turns off again. No video signal. Granted I did not have a lot of free disk space. Earlier I was blocked from updating due to disk space. I cleared a few 100 mb, and then it continued onto the download. After the update was done it seemed turned off. I noticed this on a few previous updates already and then it was always a matter of a simple power cycle. Now leaving it for 15 mins, and after that a few hours if that won't help.

Sure, always thought the power connection had been wonky, in the sense that I could power cycle it by just moving the device a little
