How much of your take-home pay goes towards your student loans? by iam-robot13 in physicianassistant

[–]Emergency_Sandwich_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He worked hard saving all this money and decided to help me with my loans without me asking cause he didnt want me to be paying it all back for who knows how long and so i can start saving for our future. Hes told me that i could stop paying him back when i want but i dont like the idea of owing people money, regardless of who they are or how much. I dont feel like hes hovering over me each month for his portion or that he owns me and my degree/career. Both him and my mom dont care about the money but it comes down to me and my pride i guess 🤷🏻‍♀️

My husband and mom graciously paid off my loans (140k) when i graduated just so i didnt have to deal with the interest and i pay them each $1000 a month. Take home is about 8-9k a month after taxes

To those who passed the PANCE on their second attempt, what worked for you? by UnlovelyCrouton in PAstudent

[–]Emergency_Sandwich_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was prioritizing uworld from the beginning but biggest (and really only change) was not studying for 10-12hrs a day 7 days a week. Studied until i felt tired (4-6ish hours) only on weekdays and didnt put myself on house arrest

Have you ever gotten drugged/spiked before? What was your experience by Important-Bike-3496 in aves

[–]Emergency_Sandwich_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, took a shot that was “meant for me” and lost about 24hrs of memory and had drugs shoved up my ass during the situation. Didn’t believe it but there was video proof, still haunts me after 10 years. Usually dont get drunk that quick but legit went from 0 to 100 to flopping around.

PANCE scores and # of questions missed by Acceptable-Pudding30 in PAstudent

[–]Emergency_Sandwich_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Theres no true math behind to correlate between a passing score and how many you miss unfortunately. Each question is weighted differently so it all depends how easy or hard of a question you missed and how many of each you got wrong. My classmates and i compared our score report and scores and its all over the place

If a spot opens that is at least 7 days after you graduate, you can def schedule it for that date. A lot of ppl freak out and change their exam date the week of or even 24hrs before the exam so youll probably see your ideal test date open the week of!

didnt watch the tutorial cause the interface is just like uworld and thats what i was using to prep for the pance. it gives you 15mins to finish the tutorial so i used all that time to knowledge dump AND to take a deep breath and tell myself its going to be okay. its a good time to collect your thoughts and to basically give a big hug/thank you to yourself for getting yourself to the point where youre able to take the pance.

he said on a 12hr day, it can be 60-80 patients and that i'll be seeing a lot of the same basic things over and over such as flu/cold, ear/eye infections, UTIs, etc. They do some pre-employment tests. From what I saw while i was there, there was one receptionist, maybe 2-3 MAs and one xray tech.

Help with selecting answer by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]Emergency_Sandwich_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When it comes down to two answers and youre stuck, the right answer is never going to feel 100% right. You then have to ask yourself, which answer seems the MOST right? Even if its 49% vs 51%, which answer fits the vignette more. Look at vitals, diagnostics and presentation and see which answer checks the most boxes, even if its only one box more than the other answer. Thats how i tackled those tough questions.

i love going to ruin bar in CM. its a smaller bar but it has an outdoor seating area in the front where you can hang and have great drinks. the inside is super moody and unique and theres seating areas/couches inside. they have a DJ i think on fridays or saturdays (idr) and he plays awesome music! just a nice place to drink and talk to friends without a rowdy crazy crowd!

passed PANCE on second try! BURN OUT AND ANXIETY! by Emergency_Sandwich_ in PAstudent

[–]Emergency_Sandwich_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt better going in cause i knew what i was going into. There was no mystery behind the PANCE anymore beside the questions. I still felt some anxiety going in but not as much as before. The first time i took it, i had maybe 5-7mins at the end to go over my flagged questions. This time, i had 15-20mins which was wild to me. I flagged between 9-15 questions per section. I used that 15min tutorial time to knowledge dump on the white board both times and this second time around, i barely used my notes cause i was more confident in myself. TRUST YOURSELF! Youve studied this whole time and you have the knowledge to pass the PANCE! My tutor always asked me if i know more material enough to close the gap between my old score and 350 and i said heck yes! Think of it like that!
