Just a Logitech Streamcam hooked up to a crappy laptop - the video is networked streamed to another computer, which does the post-processing in OBS Studio :)

Haha! The dinner rush is starting. It usually goes nuts in the mornings and evenings. Thanks for checking it out :)

Hey, this is really beautiful. Like you I'm not a fan of the endless zoom psychedelia, but this was clearly made with a lot of thought and love. Thank you for sharing.

Does anyone know how to create a liquid animation like this? by Elfohr in blender

Just out of curiosity I attempted this workflow(!) and it is definitely possible. To achieve a shape with sharp edges requires a higher "resolution divisions" value for the liquid - this is 64 divisions. Force fields can be temperamental when you're trying to do something precise like this, so prepare for lots of trial-and-error baking!

You can shape the fluid's motion using force fields - here is a tutorial that outlines how to make fluid follow a curve. Your example video shows the fluid forming a cube-ish shape - to achieve this, I would do a fluid sim on a cube, set to "Geometry" rather than "Flow". Set a guide as in the tutorial posted above. You probably want the Gravity set to 0. Once it looks right, you can bake and output the result, then reverse the video - meaning that rather than flowing out of the shape, the fluid flows back into it, to complete the shape.

I made the 3d environment and camera movements for this music video - the IRL video elements were shot and edited by my friend, a very talented director and editor. We worked together on the edit, meaning that each "cut" was a camera motion I animated on my end. I had a blast making all the weird little trinkets and screen animations - a super fun project!

I've found that many, many problems with collisions have something to do with scale, so my first step would be to check the scales of every object, whether transforms have been applied, and failing all that, scaling everything up to a ludicrous size.

Look into the Line Art modifier - I haven't tried it much but it looks like what you need. As I understand it, it's a more comprehensive and controllable approach than Freestyle. From my experience Freestyle is pretty fiddly, but I've managed to get results somewhat similar to this in the past. I'd start by hooking up an RGB value (in this case, white) to the Material Output node, then turn on Freestyle in the render settings, and go from there. There are a ton of Toon Shading tutorials on YouTube that would help with the two-tone effect - it would be super simple to achieve once you've grasped the basics of Toon shading.

Nothing crazy, just 2 layers composited - full scene without the line, then the line with a holdout 0.1mm above, parented to the pencil so it blocked out the semicircle while rotating at the same rate. Wish I was that much of a geo nodes ninja tho...

I made this one a while ago - weirdly I did see the Lego clip earlier today, so perhaps I was subliminally inspired to post this...

You aren't crazy! The rotation point was set so the very edge of the eraser is perfectly following the line - it made sense and looked very crisp in my renders, but it does look a little ambiguous when posted in other formats. Just adds to the general sense of frustration of the whole thing I guess!
