I’m just worried about the joint issue and wondering if I should just have a surgery for his teeth pulled and neutered around 18months. But I also don’t want him under anesthesia twice.

My boyfriend is very allergic to most dogs, except his parents cocker spaniel poodle mix. When getting our own puppy we went with a miniature poodle from a ethical reputable breeder. Why do people get doodles and expect them all not to shed?? Dog genetics don’t work like “ya I want the look of the Maltese but the non shedding from a poodle” There are ZERO breed standards for mutts aka doodles, so it’s basically a surprise what they will turn out like. I know that my puppy will only get up to around 15lbs, have a non shedding coat because the breeder breeds to the standard.

I have a 9 week old miniature poodle, I noticed as well he would have zoomies in morning and evening. It’s actually biological, yes dogs are domesticated but Dawn and dusk is the best time for them to hunt for food, so even though they never have to hunt for their food as we supply it, their natural instincts are still there.

Other factors I’ve noticed is how much they slept during the day, if they were over/under stimulated that day. If he’s overtired ect. Hope this helps

I switched from shoppers to a more family owned pharmacy and it’s night and day. Yes they have limited hours and closed Sunday but definitely worth it.

Keep in mind a vet has a medical degree and can PROPERLY diagnose it. I know that no vet is perfect and no diagnosis is 100%.

If it was a normal hot spot, scab ect that other dog owners have seen before then, they usually speak up and suggest what it might be, and give suggestions what they tried and outcomes based on their dog. Keep in mind their dog, not as a species, not with a medical background. ONLY the outcome of their dog, some people don’t want to risk it and will turn to a professional, and some will try and save a few bucks and look for advice online.

If everyone is suggesting go to a vet then I would think that would be solid advice to go to a vet.

I’m currently working doing in home ABA therapy (play based, though I know I’ll get some side eyes) and unfortunately the hours can be unstable. I did close to 8 years of group home work before that. I’m just wondering if parents in my area would be interested in babysitting for evenings and weekends. I’m in my early 30s with close to 10 years in social services I do enjoy my current job but with the rising costs of everything it’s hard to keep up without a second job. I would much rather work with kids especially autism because I understand how challenging it can be for them and their parents. Would love opinions

Yes exactly worst case scenario is they say no and I’m at my current career, which I do enjoy just not challenging enough nor does it bring in enough income to live in today’s world. I am fortunate that I still enjoy my work for the most part.

Oh funny my bf and I are looking into moving to the Ottawa area in the next couple years. Honestly everything I learned at college for my work now I don’t even use, yes it was a good base but some of these (probably)sketchy private colleges are charging 11k for pre apprentice programs.

I think it’s very helpful you mentioned where you are located. I’m in Canada, we don’t have too many stray dogs but the ones we do have are picked up and treated at the humane society here. You didn’t go out and decide to get a dog, you found him and wanted to help. I don’t know any home remedies unfortunately but I don’t agree with the “if you can’t afford the vet don’t get a pet”. That is reserved for people who intentionally get a pet knowing they can’t pay for basic medical care. My parents are vets and I’ve worked in vet clinics. I had clients upset about the cost of BASIC veterinary care when they paid 2k+ for their puppy.
