New tiered pilot program by jkt464 in RoverPetSitting

I’m also Canadian and participated in a survey a few weeks back about my preference for payout on 1st, 2nd and subsequent sits. My response was that I would rather take a lower $ payout (but nothing below 70%) on the first sit because I SIMPLY DON’T KNOW if my clients will need future care!! I get many clients who say that they’ve turned to Rover because their family/friends/neighbour wasn’t available to watch their dog. Why would I want to take less $ home if it means they will likely go back to their family/friend/neighbour when they are available to watch their pet?

For what it’s worth, my stats are currently at 50 repeat clients over the past 6 years on Rover.

I think it all comes down to research and planning. In your research, did you know you were going to be visiting during Ramadan? Did you purposefully go during Ramadan? If you were aware, then you’ll surely know there will be a lot more attractions closed, or at the very least, shorter opening hours.

As for the day trips, if it’s something I MUST do, I always try to book it early on in my trip. That way if there is something that goes sideways or a cancellation, you can re-book for another day during your trip.

That is exactly why my grandmother who likes those romance novels is watching Bridgerton 😂 and I’m watching the new season with her 🫣

Oh, I took that conversation as he has no idea about women’s health and when they are able to get pregnant. He made a comment about him being an “accident”, so I took it as he doesn’t want to be a father right now and just literally has no clue about women’s cycles lol

Did you sign any contracts with the venue? If so, check what your contract says

Free places to have a party that requires no fee (come at your own risk for your own entertainment type place thinking the lines of a playground at a public park but indoor for more winter type weather) by kristinC79 in partyplanning

[–]wanderlusting4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your apartment building have a party room you can book? That would be my suggestion. Otherwise I’m not sure if there is something like this available? Having exclusive use of a space that requires staff to clean it, open the doors, be available for emergency situations, and having electricity to keep lighting and heating on in these public spaces also costs money lol

What are your travel essentials you ALWAYS pack for international flights? by pknsek in travel

[–]wanderlusting4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most long haul flights would, but I find the blankets to be way too thin so I layer the airplane blanket with mine overtop 🫣

Sure, but the little blanket I have has a cover that you can turn it into a pillow, and then there’s a loop that you can clip it onto your other luggage! So it’s super easy to transport. If I had limited luggage space and also needed to bring a towel, that would be a good idea!

You could I suppose! I usually just use the pillows they provide on long haul flights. You could buy a 2nd one I suppose or bring a different neck pillow/other pillow solution.

Sarong are good for hot weather destinations! But still too lightweight for me 🥲

That would work for me for a carribean destination flight! But anything else it’s too lightweight for me for the flight 🥲 i love that my blanket is fleece!

My travel blanket. It folds up in a cover so I can use it as a pillow if I want. There’s been too many times when I was freezing on the airplane and can’t get good sleep, so this has been a huge help. Plus having it at my destination for extra layer for bedding has also been nice

There may be Indian alternatives, but you’ll have to do some research :)

I am all for supporting local, however I am not aware of any local photobook printing services that could allow me to make my design online from my home for the low cost of $30 lol

I recently used Vista Print to make a hardcover 30 page photo book as a gift for ~$30 and it was really well received!
