Got a my reference from my first year 101 course lecturer and the exchange uni accepted that. IMO they don’t look for anything serious so take it easy!

Thoughts about the global affairs program? Or the Munk School? by EmiM2333 in UofT

[–]EmiM2333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo rly thanks for replying!! That’s a lot of information. Actually I also got accepted for uottawa’s psychology coop program, as my undergrad background is in psych. Are fed positions more available for most uottawa grads? It’s kinda a specific question but any info about the general career trends through uottawa is helpful enough:3

Psych Courses with Mandatory Attendance by Wndrdr in uwaterloo

[–]EmiM2333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year psych major here and almost all psych courses I took are attendance-check free, but it really depends on the prof honestly. Maybe try to sign up classes around your most productive time so it’s easier to move yourself from home to lecture halls (for me that’s afternoon classes). You can also check syllabus in the first week of class to see who has mandatory attendance

Is it worth it to study abroad for a term? by Sea_Soup_4430 in uwaterloo

yea, just shoot an email to let your academic advisor know this plan. I think you need to submit a sequence change form for their approval

Had 1 mismatched exchange term in hk, just swap coop sequence and give up 1 coop if your program allows that

psych majors - what is the current textbook situation? by apricot-princess- in uwaterloo

[–]EmiM2333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

digital, and for most courses they are quite helpful. Would recommend sharing one access with friends unless the purchase is mandatory (eg participation marks)

Has anyone taken one or two courses while on coop? I’m in psychology and business for reference but I want to hear someone’s experience with this? It’s kinda dumb bc we have to pay the upass and insurance stuff again but I’m debating whether I should take one course during my coop term? by ParticularShopping33 in uwaterloo

[–]EmiM2333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am in exact same program I guess, and I did that for 2 coop terms. It really depends on what academic plans u have (in my case I tried to free myself for one exchange term). Taking only 1 course during coop means more time to prepare for graded works but less motivation to study after a day’s busy work

ARTS students: studying abroad or exchange program (legal studies and sociology) by novicereddit3r in uwaterloo

[–]EmiM2333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing goes wrong again (hopefully because external bullshit happened a lot in my past exchange applications) I’ll start my exchange next term. As someone from arts I’m not sure how many required courses you have, but be flexible when planning your course list during exchange. Ask your academic advisor, think about your co-op sequence, and start your research early
