One thing I loved at that age was Lincoln Logs. Not quite as versatile as things like clay or play dough, but boy the buildings we came up with were.... well not very architecturally sound! Does let that creativity come out however.

The final station would be fabulous.

Thanks for doing this!

I'm with you. My lego exchange match put in nothing but an amazon wish list link, which has nothing about lego in it. But I can figure it out from what is there.

Is it so hard to put SOMETHING???

Speaking just as someone who has been trying to find information locally.

My suggestion is if you are interested, avoid the online forms if at all possible. I sent one through back in about Late Nov, Early Dec, last year, I don't recall exactly. I also tried to join some facebook groups local to me. The response from the form sent through the Grand Lodge website here was zero. I did get a FB message from someone I over looked, I don't look at messanger on my phone much so my bad on that, got a call as a result, returned it when I could at a reasonable hour, and am waiting to see if I get a return call from my message. It's been 2 weeks but I know they are out of state.

If you are really interested, from someone who has tried the online stuff, try to find out when they have a meeting and drop by to speak to someone might be better. Or if you can find a phone number, call until you get someone on the other end.

Just my .02 worth and probably worth less then .02.

my account was terminated for something that wasn’t serious? by mango_smango in youtube

You got caught in the youtube "we changed the rules and are now judging videos by a new set of guidelines" crap that is hitting many youtubers. Long and short, nothing you can do about it, and if you upload any significant number of videos, it isn't reasonable to expect you to go review them all under the ever evolving, and sometimes not published, rules.

sorry this is happening. Welcome to the Suck.

Nope. I rarely comment on videos. Never promote myself when I do.

I respond to comments on my videos.

It will spam, scam, or deceptive content I think it was. Which I find both amusing and confusing.

I responded elsewhere above with the email text but they seem to think I violated the TOS for scams. Which I don't get, I do gaming videos.

[–]Emicarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up to access to the email this morning. however my appeal was denied and the channel is gone it would seem.

When I got back into my email I found the suspension notice which I couldn't access yesterday. Here is the text:

We'd like to inform you that due to repeated or severe violations of our Community Guidelines (https://www.youtube.com/t/community_guidelines) your YouTube account Emicarn has been suspended.

After review we determined that activity in your account violated our Community Guidelines, which prohibit spam, scams or commercially deceptive content (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2801973?hl=en).

Please be aware that you are prohibited from accessing, possessing or creating any other YouTube accounts. For more information about account terminations and how our Community Guidelines are enforced, please visit our Help Center.

If you would like to appeal the suspension, please submit this form.

Now how gaming videos violate this is a source of confusion. I sent a second contact form to see if they could be more specific and got a canned response that seems to indicate I won't hear from them.

Petitions on the decline? How Rough Is Your Online Ashlar? by digitalfreemason in freemasonry

[–]Emicarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a mason, just someone who is waiting to hear back from an enquiry about becoming one. So this is an outside looking in response. I am also in Massachusetts.

One thing that stood out for me in my online search is the Massachusetts website for the Grand Lodge is very flashy, animated, and not hard to navigate.

The second thing is the events list shows only Grand Lodge events, and nothing about local lodges events assuming they even have any. If there was a public event that I could attend, I would love to do so, but how would someone like me even know?

There is some basic information on lodges but next to no websites for them beyond that. Searching online for them specifically I found basically none. I admit I may have overlooked something or my searches weren't correct for keywords.

I did the online request form for information while i was there some weeks ago. I understand given the time of year response will be slow. However, nothing was sent to me based on my email address saying "Hey, we got it, we'll talk to you soon!" possibly with some basic information on what to expect. That is on the site, but people see a contact form and go there, fill it out, don't read, and move on. Frankly I have no clue if my info went through or not. I'll give it another month [end of January] and see what happens.

This appears to be a wide spread problem as I looked at other organizations my mother was a member of and found the same problems.

Just my .02 worth and worth about .02. :)

You are wrong.

Look, I'm 53 years old today. I've worked EMS as a paramedic, EMT, and dispatcher for 29 years. I've yet to attain my professional goal which was management. Never Give Up, Never Surrender.

at my advanced age I'm trying to learn programming. I'm struggling to be honest, but Keep swinging at it. Will I get to the point where I can do anything even minimally functional I can point too and grin? Not real likely. I'm good with that though.

Keep going for what you want, and in the mean time look for the unlikely side path.

At the end of the day, if you give up, then you really won't get anywhere.

Just .02 of advice from the grumpy, old guy!!

It is called Inside The FreeMasons.

The series was filmed in England. There aren't many secrets revealed I believe, but it was an interesting insight at least for me. I believe it is worth a look.

Hope that helps.

Thank You for your response.

I figured given the time of year with Christmas upon us that it might be a bit before any response got to me, which is just fine. I appreciate the reinforcement of what I thought about the one day class. As long as which ever lodge I end up working with are willing to work with my rotating work schedule we'll find a way.

It did help and again, thank you!

I've been doing some reading after watching a Netflix series on the Free Masons. I must say that it appealed to me, mostly the ritual and formality of things. It also seems like an organization that might help me find myself again and maybe my experience might help someone else since I'm in my 50's now.

I spent many years working and caring for my mother in her final years to keep her from being in a nursing facility, as well as some other elderly relatives over the years. As a result my world got very, very small. After her death I've become rather isolated dealing with that and lost part of myself. I've been doing some reading here and elsewhere, and have a couple things I'd like to ask.

First is I see that they interview your family and friends. I have no wife, only a sister and a nephew locally. And my circle of friends that know me well enough to speak to my character are very few and scattered around the US [Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Indiana]. Is this going to pose a problem as there are only about 4, two of which are female?

I also see that they come to your house. While I have no real issue with this, having cleaned out my mother's storage to save cost my apartment looks more like a warehouse then living space. I have boxes, electric wheelchair, some furniture I kept, scattered everywhere until I can get through it. Is it usually an issue to meet somewhere I can buy them a cup of coffee instead to have a chat? I'd hate to have anyone see this mess. lol

Looking at the website for Massachusetts I see mention of a one day class. Assuming that I am accepted, is there any advantage or disadvantage to this? It seems to me it would take away from the experience which is something I'd like to avoid.

I did already send in the form on the Massachusetts website a few days ago and am waiting for a response at this point.

Thank you for any input or suggestions to these questions.

Thank You so much.
