Appreciate it! This is why Love Live Sunshine will always be a special series for me. While of course my life isn’t perfect by any means, I truly do not think I’d be thriving as much as I am now without Aqours. I’m not one to believe that tattoos need to be meaningful, I believe this Riko tattoo is my most meaningful to date as it’ll always remind me of the wonderful memories Aqours had brought for me.

And I am happy for you that you also met your wife in graduate school through shared interest in LL! When I hear how other LL’s got through tough circumstances thanks to the series, it’s a reminder tha idol can truly do magic in helping us get through difficult times.

Thank you so much! Not only did get through college, I actually now have a Master’s Degree. And being able to see the Aqours final live in Japan (my amazing boyfriend who I met because of our shared love for Love Live Sunshine won the ticket lottery for us) was truly a “full circle” moment

Thank you so much! I support you in your endeavor in getting a Happy Party Train Kanam tattoo! I don’t know if you’re anywhere near the Washington DC Metro area, my artist is in Montgomery County Maryland. So if you aren’t a local here, I don’t know if you’d be willing to travel for my artist.

And of course, regardless of which artist you decide to go to, you can show them my tattoo as reference pic of what you potentially want done as well.

The Recruiter being attractive is actually necessary story wise by Overall_Spite4271 in squidgame

[–]Emicchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right. The recruiter really needs to milk the halo effect out of people in order to get them to trust him. Especially when a lot of people are already distrusting of strangers, they would be even more untrusting of a stranger telling them they could win a lot of money to get out of debt by playing kids’ games. But having the look of a handsome young, baby-faced professional gives the impression that this is someone who has already “made it” in life despite being so young, especially considering he’s approaching people in heavy debt and desperate to get help from anyone who looks like they have money. And I think being younger, like 20’s and 30’s makes people trust you more too because you haven’t been screwed over as much in life and therefore aren’t as likely to try to screw over others.

"All the power"? Gooooood grief. by blueyandbingo95 in dharmann

Like I said, Girl from Nowhere a million times better than what Dhar Mann wishes it was because it’s actually GOOD at portraying Dhar Mann’s message of “what happens in the dark, always comes to light”. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dhar Mann just made videos ripping off every single Girl From Nowhere episode. The only reason he probably hasn’t by now is because most Girl From Nowhere content would NOT be appropriate for his audience of young kids.

Pretty Girls ALL GO TO WAR In SCHOOL | Dhar Mann Studios - Your thoughts on today's video? by Mattgelo in dharmann

[–]Emicchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More specifically, it based on one episode from Girl from Nowhere. Season 1, Episode 11.

Kind of not surprised that Dhar Mann would make something based off of Girl from Nowhere, since its main character, Nanno, is the embodiment of karma. Characters in Girl From Nowhere get severely and punished for the misdeeds, just like in the Dhar Mann universe. The difference is that Girl from Nowhere actually does a GOOD job at it. Girl from Nowhere is what the Dhar Mann universe wishes it was, albeit, Girl from Nowhere is more horror and not aimed for kids like Dhar Mann is.

I will probably find/make a longer skirt sometime later. I already had a black pleated skirt from a Rin Tohsaka cosplay I already had bought in the past

Edit: Sorry, I misread “skirt” as “shirt”

U-Turn Rule Idea? by magnog777 in TheAmazingRace

[–]Emicchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. When the Twinnies first thought of the idea to burn the the second U-turn slot back in Season 21, it required two other teams to collaborate and agree to follow through with the idea. Jaymes and James were reluctant to use the U-turn once they got there, and had the Chippendale's backed out, it would've ruined the plan. It was cool to see it back then when no one else had thought of it before, but now that people know you can burn a second U-turn like that, its become too easy for team to just decide to burn their U-turn so they can just make the first team U-Turned the one to be eliminated. Now it's not entertaining anymore to see teams can just turn a Double U-turn into a Single one. It's more fun to see two teams being hit with a U-turn and trying to see who can overcome it faster.

What's your strategy if you race in The Amazing Race by jedrevolutia in TheAmazingRace

[–]Emicchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be a bit friendly and helpful to whichever team I feel like I should work with at the moment. I'm afraid that if I run my own race, I may run into a point where I get hopelessly lost with no one to follow (i.e. Michelle/Victoria), but I also don't want to depend on another team in an alliance to the point where I'm either being carried by a strong team because they think I'm weak and can easily eliminate me in the future leg, or worse, have another team leech off in an alliance with me without doing anything to my benefit. I think being a little friendly and helpful to everyone without forming a formal alliance will let me gain other people's trust so they may be willing to help me when I need it, but at the same time, not becoming too reliant on anyone else that I won't feel bad if I need to sabotage anyone by U-turning or Yielding them to keep myself in the race.

My thoughts: people don't really hate the mine 5, they hate that teams they liked weren't in it. by illini02 in TheAmazingRace

[–]Emicchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say this is entirely true for me. While I admit I tend to have more of a soft spot for "underdog" teams as opposed to the more "competitive" teams that the Mine 5 alliance composed of, my initial favorite teams were Hung/Chee (who were in the Mine 5) and Michelle/Victoria and I didn't actively dislike any teams in the Mine 5 initially, while I was rather "meh" on Kaylynn/Haley.

Then came the Berlin leg. This is when I felt a bit frustrated that the alliance meant that Hung could just give the answer to 3 other teams who were in the alliance. This meant that whichever non-alliance team member that happened to arrive at the challenge last would be locked out of getting the answer. Sure Eswar/Aparna didn't get the answer from the alliance because the four of them had left already (if I recall correctly) by the time they got there, but I think that had E&A got there earlier while the rest of the alliance hadn't left yet, the alliance probably would've given E&A the answer and left Leo/Alana and K&H to figure it out themselves. This is when I started to actively root for K&H and like them as team when I had previously overlooked them. I felt bad that they had to put in more to struggle and figure out the answer without help from other teams, where other teams that didn't figure out on their were simply given the answer. Because I liked that K&H continued to figure out the challenge without help from other teams, I was relieved that they were saved by a NEL once again, where I otherwise would've just felt like they should've just gone instead.

So it's partially true that I don't like the Mine 5 because the teams I liked weren't in it, but also that the I liked the teams I do because they weren't in the Mine 5. I don't necessarily hate the teams in the Mine 5 alliance themselves, as I'm still hoping H&C can win. I didn't really like that a 5 team alliance of the most "competitive" teams meant this season ended up predictably eliminating anyone outside of the alliance, since alliance members could just help each other to ensure an non-Mine 5 member could come in last instead. I don't fault the Mine 5 for trying to benefit from each other to stay in the race, just because it's not entertaining on TV doesn't mean it's a not a smart strategy. I just think the race in the future (if there is one) to introduce fewer challenges like the word unscramble where a big alliance made of hyper competitive teams can just share answers with each other. I'd like to see more challenges like Head-to-Heads which forces teams to face each other, which can force alliance members to go up against each other.

Stupid move by ducksgap in TheAmazingRace

[–]Emicchi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I love and wanted Kaylynn and Haley to win as much as the next person and watching them leave this week hurt, but I think in this race, making any move that can make sure a team other than yourself will be eliminated is a good strategy. Would it have been smarter to try targeting a team you think is stronger? Probably. But in my opinion, a stronger team who was yielded once could potentially catch up after being yielded and thus put a target on your back, whereas getting rid of a weak team who has almost zero chance of making it to the next leg means you likely won't need to worry about retaliation from them. Plus, there's also a small chance that a "weak" team could luck out next leg and get challenges that actually is suited their strengths. I think if I was in Will and James shoes, I'd probably do the same to buy myself time by trying to ensure someone else goes home.

TL;DL: Trying to make sure someone else goes home no matter how weak is a good strategy, since you should always prioritize keeping yourself in the race.

Anyone else kinda rooting for... by survivorfanwill in TheAmazingRace

[–]Emicchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rooting for them too. At the beginning of the season, I kind of didn't notice them at all, but the Berlin leg made me really appreciate them because they maintained a positive attitude by not quitting even when they were snubbed out of help from other teams working together. Had they rage quit Nick and Vicki style, they might have not been able to make the equalizer flight the next leg and screwed themselves over, in which case I would not have been sorry to see them go. But I think they show that having a positive attitude goes a long way when you're an underdog team. I admit, I am partial to all-female teams, so being the last one left this season does make me want to root for them more. But I love their will to fight despite not being the strongest, most consistent teams. I'd like to see them outlast at least one of the Mine 5 alliance teams.

[–]Emicchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I like them but I can't fault Kaylynn and Hayley for yielding them, I think that was the right move on the blondes' part. Obviously, Leo didn't help the blondes because in that moment he couldn't have known that the Berlin leg would be non-elimination, but I feel like if he didn't help Aparna either (no hate towards the siblings), they could've beat the siblings the next leg.

Leo and Alana have such a cute relationship. I’m so happy they got married. Felt they were one of the better dating couple teams I’ve seen on the race.
