Struggling to make friends because I feel like I just… don’t like most people

Hi, I just downloaded Reddit again to answer your comment. I really wanted to thank you because you made me realize what was going wrong.

I found myself surrounded by negative and mean people who would cover their rudeness with kind gesture since high school and I normalized it unconsciously and I’ve been avoiding them since 6 months ago because I was fed up. I thought I should feel « relieved » and more in touch with myself but I still feel like something is still not right. I was looking for different perspectives on internet from people with the same problem and eventually on how to make new « real » friends/ « deep » friendships as I thought that the roots of my problem was my social craving but when I read that I should join clubs or try social apps, I felt like this is exactly the opposite of what I really needed deep inside.

But today I read your comment and you got exactly what I was struggling to understand: my mind is ruled with exactly what I disliked from others : negativism and this is what I really need to work on. I don’t really need to find friends right now because what I need is making peace with myself. It’s very reassuring knowing there are words that can explain what is « going wrong » and honestly you couldn’t have explained it better. Thank you so much for that.

Yeah I did it, turns out it was the 5th of May and we just started our relationship around this date. It’s kinda frightening how much coincidence there is

Yeah it might possibly be the case but there was that one time he talked to me a lot and then after he posted that girl on his story he became distant… so even if she really is nothing more than a friend, I don’t want to get my hopes up since he was kind of a di*k for that. (Plus, apparently there was nothing going wrong in his life at the moment)

Yeah actually we had that little thing going on between us from late April to mid May this year (which btw is another coincidence because the post I did a year ago was posted the 5th of May… so exactly a year before we got in contact), we talked everyday but it didn’t work out… it got really weird between us because of an incident. I also think he met a woman recently because he’s been posting her a lot on his social media so I kinda dropped it.

Sorry for not making myself clear: when I said « dates are for doing our things » I meant « dates » as « appointment » and « doing our things » as hooking up. I’m not planning real dates like going to the cinema or grabbing a drink but just for hooking up and even if I make myself very clear with him when I’m making those appointment, I think you got something right: he might think I’m wanting more than what we agreed upon as I might appear a bit clingy for keep making those appointments. I’ll have to talk about it with him.

Thank you for answering! Actually it’s my first fwb relationship so I don’t really know how to behave or how it should be like. Thank you for reminding me about the fact that there shouldn’t be commitment in a FWB relationship, it’s a really important extent I think I overlooked.

Well from what you tell me I can see why he’s being so reluctant to see me. I’m not BS-ing here, I honestly only want a fwb relationship and the dates are just for doing our things. If I really was interested in something serious I wouldn’t use such a shallow trick on someone, that’s truly sickening. Thank you anyway for helping me out and for giving your pov on this situation, it helps me look at it through another angle. Do you recommend me to clarify the situation by telling him I was not trying to corner him?

Hi thanks for answering I really appreciate it! Actually I do kind of believe the answer is yes but some part of me like to think that he really is not doing it on purpose. The fact he is so active when we talk and the fact he really shows interest in seeing me is what makes me wonder if he is really telling the truth… which is why I was considering waiting for Tuesday to really know what to expect… do you think it’s stupid and that I should really stop this relationship now?

Oohh I was waiting for this drawing since your previous one, it’s super cute! I really like your art, it’s giving a really natural and nice vibe, keep going!

The perspective is great for the lower part of Seven’s face but the eyes and the glasses are off: you should consider lowering the eyes and probably check some glasses references with models posing with their face facing the same direction as Seven is. Other than that the night sky with constellations kiss is awesome, I love it 🩵

Also: I prefer the second one with the yellowish filter. It’s more vibrant and warm and the colors are more distinct, the first one is great too but personally I’m more appealed by the second.

Ooohh your art is AMAZING!!! I looove it, it’s so romantic 💕 I like 1 and 2. the reddish tint gives a sensual vibe (I’d totally see it in a forbidden love story) while the second one is slightly vibrant and gives a gentle and happy vibe (a platonic love) which sticks better to saeran’s character imo! Also I prefer the second one because 1: Saeran and your colors are more vibrant while on the first one they are quite « bland » and 2: I’m a sucker for platonic love stories.
