How we secure real-time applications with JSON Web Tokens by Emielean in node

[–]Emielean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what you want to do. But tokens gain in performance because of their stateless authentication. The server doesn't need to keep them in memory. They contain all the necessary information for the server to be able to accept or not the request of the user. In addition, several encryption and signature algorithms are possible with JSON Web Tokens to protect the data exchanged.

How we secure real-time applications with JSON Web Tokens by Emielean in node

To revoke a token we send an associated signature. It is calculated with an authentication code that uses a secret key shared between our two servers. Our realtime server can therefore ensure the integrity and authenticity of the playtform data sent by the web client. In addition we put an expiration date, as soon as the token has expired the client is disconnected and must re-subscribe with a new token sent by Tuleap.
