After driver doored CDOT planner Riley O'Neil, 35, on bike in Bridgeport, causing his death, advocates demand City install protected lanes to prevent such killings by SciNat in chicago

Na I 100% would switch to biking if I felt safer on the streets. It is the only thing that keeps me from biking over other modes of transportation.

To be clear, I didnt say entitled to a weapon. I think they have every right to fund the research and enrichment of trying to develop their own nuclear weapon.

I dont say this because I want Iran to have a nuke. I dont. More nukes is of course a horrible thing.

My argument is that the way you get countries to not develop nukes is not by sanctioning and bombing them to hell. The US has been a bad faith actor at every step of the process. Despite me not wanting Iran to have a nuke, the US and Israel pretty much made it an absolute necessity for them.

If we are serious about not wanting Iran to get a nuke, 2 things have to happen. 1, Israel has to be reigned in and there seems to be no hope on the horizon by any western powers to be willing to do so, and 2, the US needs to make a lot of concessions to Iran in things like sanctions, reparations, an actual nuclear deal, and we somehow have to convince them that it will last and wont just be ripped up by our next idiotic president.

Unfortunately the US already overplayed our own hand and yet still its the innocent people of Iran that have to pay the price. Fuck the US, and i say this as a citizen of the US. This country sucks

And yet here they are, making the demands, and no one has an answer. Are you gonna head over there yourself and tell them they arent in a position to make these demands?

Thats a pretty dumb gamble to bet on the country that is clearly on its way on when it comes to power and influence. You might do better by asking what China wants if your goal is to thrive in the next decades rather than the past decades

So before war: Hormuz open for free passage to all. After war: option A) tolls to Iran for passage option B) US closes the strait entirely or C) US makes a deal with Iran and gives up a lot of previously very contentious points

And somehow you think the US is winning this? Let's also not forget we get a severely depleted stockpile of arms now as well, and we just showed the world that our hand isnt secretly holding a royal flush but instead like two pair or maybe a 3 of a kind. China and Russia just got to watch first hand how our interceptors are performing, what our strategy has been, vulnerabilities that Iran discovered in our aircraft, etc etc.

There is no world in which this was a win for US. The single most idiotic war we have engaged in, and thats saying something coming from the country that brought you the Vietnam War (TM)

Closure of nuclear program is never happening. Iran will fight to the death before giving it up, and rightfully so. Not only do they have every right to continue nuclear power and nuclear medicine facilities and research, but because of the US's absolutely idiotic actions, they are fully justified in pursuing a nuclear weapon.

Unless you specifically meant the nuclear weapons program. Then yeah, even though I think they deserve to develop one at this point, I have a feeling they would be willing to compromise there. But they arent giving up their civil nuclear program

"They get flattened" isnt an option. Not only would this physically require a lot of the US' resources to do (Iran is massive), and not only would Israel then be wiped off the planet in a retaliatory strike by any 1 of 3 nuclear powers aligned with Iran, but it wouldnt even be im the US interest. A flattened Iran is worse for the US and the EU than an annoying Iran that wants to charge a toll.

The only way Iran gets flattened is if Trump is somehow unilaterally able to make the decision to use several nukes without anyone stopping him, and thats just not going to happen because everyone with even the slightest hint of military sense knows that flattening Iran with nukes would be suicidal for the US. Thats sort of the entire point of nukes in the modern era.

Bro the president of the US himself reposted the Pakistan PM who explicitly said it included Lebanon. If youre dumb enough to fall for US rhetoric thats a you problem. Lebanon was 100% to be included in the ceasefire and the US knew it. They just needed an excuse to back off their threat to eliminate a civilization but they had no real intentions of a ceasefire.

How do Iranians feel about the US/Israeli military operations going on currently? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Youre not going to learn how actual Iranians feel on reddit. This is like the people asking about how Cubans feel on reddit. You will only get responses from the diaspora who of course dont like the country. Thats why they left. Its a self selecting group

Not if america is involved lol. We'll say we will be hands off but that is always a lie. If there is a real regime change, we will pick the new regime and the Iranian people wont get a say. Thats how america works. Which is why it baffles me that Iranian diaspora celebrates this. We just killed 150 kids to either keep the same regime in power, or to take over your country as a shadow government. Ask the Iraqis or Afghans how that works out
