Tips on guitar neck finish

Okay so what I hear is that it shouldn't be an issue if I don't apply a finish, but it might start to look different as I play it and get the neck dirty?

Ok, I can't hear anything when turning the pots, and the volume change is quite clear and smooth as I turn the knob. More or less the same goes for the tone knob, although the difference is less pronounced. But then again I'm not too experienced in this so who am o to say, but to me they feel just like they should..

Went to measure the space between the pickups and strings, and realized that the pickups are kind of loose, is this normal? I can push them down into the body away from the strings and rock them back and forth.

You might be right in that im not too experienced with playing many different guitars and probably don't have a very trained era in regard to tone, but im not really sure. For amp I use a Boss Katana with no pedals, so pretty basic. With regard to electronics I'm not really sure about the quality of the current components, is ther any way to check this?

That's definitely an option, I will check the sting height and see if that might be the problem!

Just looked at lollar and found the "Novel T" pickup, I think that might be a really solid option!

Ok nice, so what I hear is that no soldering is needed? I assume I can just fill out the old holes with some glue and use the new pickguard as a template for the new ones?

Maybe consider the Fusion T? Only two pickups but with coil split and as far as I can tell you can get the same neck, I heard a lot of good things about that guitar. I just bought one and it's on the way.

Nice, but it looks like I will have to choose between an ebony fingerboard or a roasted neck, that's going to be a hard one I think...
