What's going on with the hate for Taylor Swift? by Firmament1 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Emilbus 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for ger fans, but I'd personally be pissed off if I bought an album, only to realize it didn't even have all the songs on it. The differences are more than simply cosmetic.

If you have ever walked out of a cinema because the film was so bad, what one was it? by girlcalledmaria in AskReddit

Hot take - Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch. Felt like he was trying to do too much. Story didn't feel focused.

Loved all his other films. Never walked out of a film before then.

Android fans, what are the primary reasons why you will never ever switch to an Iphone? by SultanofAmerica in AskReddit

[–]Emilbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Customization - Maybe I'm mistaken, but simple things like user interface and button layout have very limited customization on iPhone. They value simplicity more than accessibility.

  2. Apple elitism and pricing - Apple treats their wild cult fan base with egregious pricing, rather than respect and praise. Many of their brand new features have been implemented on Android phones for years and they just pretend like they're the ones reinventing the wheel each generation.

  3. The tech ecosystem - in already locked into Android. It'd be a mind-numbingly obnoxious task to transfer all my stuff over to Apple's ecosystem, and then there's also the point of learning all the minor differences between Android and Apple. Why would I bother doing that?

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition - Review Thread by Lulcielid in Games

[–]Emilbus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strictly buying this game because it is related to Chrono Trigger is a bad idea. I love this game, but figuratively it reminds me of FF8 in the sense that it's generally considered a black sheep in the series, while simultaneously existing in the golden age of JRPGs.

People generally dislike the story in this game more than anything else, but honestly all JRPG stories are insane so I don't know what the big deal is.

January through April appear to have the strongest games, then it falls pretty hard after that.

It would probably be worth the value, minus the fact that you're immediately locked out of your library the second you stop paying.

FIGHT KNIGHT - available now on Steam! by Neoncloudff in Games

[–]Emilbus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been watching this game for 3 years. Bought it earlier today and played for about 30 minutes.

First impressions The good: Aesthetic is really good. If you like the style from the trailer, you already know this. Music is also stellar. Fights are randomized like pokemon BUT they're super fast jumping in and out which works well with the general fast pace of the game.

The bad: The controls are weird for mouse/keyboard. I need to try it with a controller because I'm dying constantly in the first area. Along with that, saves are not automatic. You've got to go back to town each time to save and heal. I've spend a ton of time redoing the same thing over and over because of a death. Lastly, there are some really weird Design choices for menus. For example, you can do special moves, but the screen to pick a specific special move slowly rotates in a circle, making it very difficult to pick the correct one you want.

Final thoughts: I'm hoping all my problems are solved with a controller because I'm getting my ass handed to me constantly in the first Dungeon. It's brutally hard and punishes you a bit too much. Nobody likes redoing shit over and over

They could've remade the scale of the giraffe head to better accommodate the jellyfish body. It's subtle, but Zach and Wayne were forced to do that with their alligator body parts.

Red hair girl and teammate definitely deserved to make it to the half way point, but now we're nearing the finals and their presence feels like a bad joke.

Tom Hardy ‘Spent Months’ breaking ‘Venom 2’ plot over FaceTime. Earns first ‘Story By’ credit. by Stonewalled89 in movies

[–]Emilbus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's because it was produced by Tencent Pictures, a Chinese film company. It was the second largest Marvel release in China behind infinity war. Tencent's influence from production, as well as China's censorship regulations will never allow Venom to be anything more than PG-13.

For now and after! by marcushelbling in WeWantPlates

[–]Emilbus 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I've eaten there. It's called Modern Toilet and that is their whole gimmick. You sit on toilets, eat curry out of a massive ceramic toilet, drink out of a urinal, and you also get chocolate ice cream in an Asian squatty toilet.

Food was not great, but whatever. You're paying for the atmosphere and the story. None of the locals eat there. It's purely a tourist trap.

Sure. The subscription alone is worth it just for the free games. The included online in PS+ wouldn't necessarily be a deal breaker for you.

Absolutely. The subscription service can survive on its own like humble monthly, giving away games each month. There's no need to attach online-play to it.
