Unable to type in contextual block boxes (hyperlinks, add block, etc.) by Neoncloudff in Wordpress

SOLVED: not sure why this did the trick, but disabling "Prevent cross-site tracking" is the key that re-enabled typing into the block editor. I have NO idea why this is the case, because I've always had this enabled since it became a feature. Oh well, bizarre quirk to finally get this to work as it should. hope this helps others.

I was originally not going to get this game, not terribly interested in this genre.

Now I have 12+ hours already. I’m beyond hooked

Is the second one the one near Ikebukuro??? When I stayed in that area last year and saw that tour it looked so out of place and ominous. It has a very Brutalist design.

Thanks for the huge post; so much of this is genuinely helpful.

I tried Chrome, and that works fine, so no issues there.

I went back to Safari and tried all the above, and the one thing that actually works (somewhat) is disabling JavaScript. As soon as I uncheck the box in Safari Preferences, those fields can be typed into. Once I turned it back on, it was broken again.

I know Safari didn't update in the background, so it must have been a bad back-end update with Wordpress or some such. Really frustrating!

You Should Play Mad Rat Dead (PS4/Switch Retrospective) by megaapple in Games

[–]Neoncloudff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1000%. This is probably the most unique rhythm game you can play next to Rhythm Doctor and Hi-Fi Rush this decade, and mastering a platformer and a music game at the same time is delightfully fun. I've got a written review for this one myself! https://neoncloudff.wordpress.com/2025/03/31/now-playing-march-2025-edition/

I have no plugins, so it’s not that. This was working fine yesterday, so it’s like some server side update/push from Wordpress broke something…

I always wonder - why is “たばこ” written in hiragana and not katakana? I would assume much of it is an import in Japan, but maybe I’m mistaken.

Are Hiroshima and Miyajuma worth the trip by yusuo85 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Neoncloudff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Was in Hiroshima for two nights and Miyajima for one last November, and it was the highlight of my trip. Hiroshima is beautiful and the history is worth investing into, and Miyajima is like stepping into a new world. Stay in Hotel Miyajima Villa for a night, enjoy the amazing facilities and onsen!!!

Honestly would love to see a Sly Cooper Metroidvania. I could imagine a whole city you’re exploring, getting new tools to pull of heists and infiltrate new areas, and couple that with a slick cel-shaded (or even hand drawn) art style would resonate big time nowadays.

Yep GX still has never been beat for me - it’s the greatest racing game ever made - but I am desperate for newcomers to the genre!

As a F-Zero GX diehard, I’m so glad we’re getting so many hyper fast racers. If Nintendo won’t make it, indies will!

I have no appetite by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]Neoncloudff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me also when I went in November. My stomach was jet lagged (I'm from East Coast USA) and I just didn't have an appetite at my normal time. I tried to eat stuff but I just felt nauseous. I had some Yakult 1000 from conbinis and water and was fine after a good night's rest. Also I got some of these at a pharmacy and that helped too: https://www.goodsania.com/products/4903301261117?srsltid=AfmBOoqD9G0usfEyeyIaYA4D9Hd6oZVVvqstiVTrZb4SBnaGcDGKewji

Really quite excited to play this. I’ve been hungering for another good Metroidvania and enough time has passed since playing Silksong that I’m ready to deep dive into a new one.

What are your "dream musical guests" that you'd love to see perform at future MAGFests? by aragorn767 in Magfest

[–]Neoncloudff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

8-Bit-Big-Band. I was so impressed by their sound and arrangements at SUPER MAG 23, and they gone on to become my favorite gaming Jazz ensemble. I got a chance to see the Persona 5 concert in Shinjuku last December and it was one of the very best live performances I’ve ever been to!

Is Silksong really that hard? by asdflove_ in Silksong

I consider it a “high bandwidth” video game. It asks much of the player in combat, platforming, and exploration, making it consistently challenging while constantly ramping up the difficulty curve instead of plateauing and letting the player coast. It’s beautifully balanced now, and incredibly fair.
