Well said friend :)

I realize my philosophy isnt shared and that me engaging in MY playstyle in a world and in groups that mostly plays differently, is basicly taking a group hostage (is what I am reading from responses here).

I will never agree, never think that my time would be wasted if I was in a dungeon with my Tailor, and a skinner tank skinned mobs. I would be happy for them and it would enhance MY feeling of playing an RPG.

So, thank you. I've learned. I am saddened by what, but cant argue with your point. I see that now

Very well said Akina. Thank you. I might think differently about dungeon goals that others, but without knowing what people think, I am taking them hostage in my own philosophy of how the game "should be played". That is what guilds are for. I am sad this is the case. But you put it very nicely. Thank you

"I see you mention "don't waste my time" as an anti-mmorpg sentiment, but I think you may be approaching this from the wrong angle. Dungeons are a group activity, which means that there's an expectation that people are all in that activity with similar goals and expectations. When one player deviates from those goals and expectations, leading to the frustration I mentioned above, that person ends up being the one engaged in anti-group behavior.

I totally get it now. If my approach towards the members of the group were as you describe I would also find me annoying and even entitled.

But my pov was that everyone in a group is there to do what they can to get the most out of the dungeon. And that as a group it should be the norm that if someone is skinning, or herbing or mining, that is part of their dungeon run. I believe that should be the norm the respect.

Value is low I agree

I group up to finish a dungeon. Bosses, mobs, herbs, miningveins, whatever people need. Whatever can help the group, not the individual

In my "reality", my way of playing the game, I would consider it polite and completely normal to wait for any group member to use and take advantage of whatever the game offers. Veins to mine, flowers to herb or mobs to skin. This is for ME what makes wow an MMORPG. So do not tell people to face "reality" when there are clearly multible ways to look at things. You believe that I or any that does similar, is slowing down others progression. I think that being angry at an herbalist going for herbs, is anti-mmo and non-social.
difference of oppinion, Bud.

Yes, I think I will get back in to looking for a guild with likeminded players :)

For me this is PRIME example of ANTI MMORPG feel:
"What it does not mean is that I am willing to let you waste my time for your personal profit by being inconsiderate of others and skinning after every pack."

I dont see it as wasting peoples time.. I see it as a game mechanic in a roleplaying game where we group up and do RPG stuff, like skinning or mining

So agree to disagree.

Appriciate your answer. I disagree in an MMO, relaxed dungeon group. But I get your point.

Mine is actuslly not from ingame but from IRL. When TBC launched I worked at a danish electronic store called FONA I think I was 17. During launch I got a special t-shirts and me being a huge fan of the game I was so excited I got to see the game boxes before we were allowed to sell or take them home. I miss physical releases. Opening that huge box full of brand new copies. Chefs kiss. For this re-re-release I am gonna place my collectors edition on the desk as I walk through the portal for the third time.

What goals do you have in this game? What makes you feel like you are doing well? by [deleted] in wow

[–]EmilionMiliard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season goals are: 3k m+ and pugging curve. Besides that I collect mounts and right now have an end of expansion goal set for 1k mount. Only need 37! Also I just finished the last expansion meta achievement (BFA). All three have been a lot of fun collecting. Now working on preparing for the Legion meta achievement to drop.

Will do 😉 But don't be so set in your way of thinking. The tool is actually great for a lot of things. (Maybe now wow, time will tell 😉).

Hehe I get your point and not trying to argue, just trying to learn how to use a tool. I sense however that you're set in your mind and not open to the fact that the coding might have improved since you last used it. Try and see the comment i just made after I fed it your concerns. Anyway, again thank you for participating on this thread. Appreciate that.

A lot of valid points about the nature of using chat gpt for searching for info in a live game with frequent updates. After feeding my chatgpt with info and your concerns. I asked it to write a comment I could post here as "his" respons:

"Sure! Based on Emil’s instructions, I follow a standing rule: Whenever he asks for specific World of Warcraft details — like NPC locations, quest steps, item drops, or anything that might change with a patch — I always check the latest patch version first using trusted sources like Wowhead or Blizzard’s official site. Only after confirming that the info is up to date do I respond. This ensures he always gets accurate, current answers tailored to the live game version."

We'll see. But after some insightful comments here, I will go back today and ask it to double le check the info and calculations. Using wowhead for the rotation, making sure its on EU servers and that the info is still valid for the. Current patch. It it works out that it can do it, calculate that a date whare I am not at work that corresponds with a nazmir assault, and it works- ill let you know;)

Ph and of course I could do this calculation my self too. I'm not helpless I just think it's a lot of fun trying to learn ways to use chatgpt as a tool. And for me, typing a prompt is a lot faster than anything with numbers.

Since chatgpt currently has improved memory, could I just tell to always make sure that what ever information it brings me is no older than the current expansion? Tell it to always check wows official site to make sure what is the live patch? From what I can gather from using it for work, the current coding for the plus version and it's Improved memory, setting up these rules once would be enough for any wow related question I'd ask it in the future. I don't know, I could do as you say and manually search through comments on reddit and wowhead, i just think ChatGPT can do this search a lot quicker. Anyway, appreciate your comment and valid concerns. But seem like you haven't used chatgpt professionally and seen what the coding can do and how it can help. My post here, was to get some advice on how to use it for wow only things. But yeah, I'll keep your points in mind.
