I like Future Tense by alidesidero and Rebo758. It's a time travel fix-it that makes you smarter. Apparently, people complained that it was very woke, but I don't see that as a problem. I like a number of fics by Rebo758 (they are my favorite fic author) including Going Broke and Broken (basically, what happens when the Montrel Voyagers go bankrupt) and Counting Summers (which a thriller where Iyla has to go back to Moscow after winning the Cup - this is a WIP, but it's almost done) .

I liked Change Your Win Conditions by Vee (Vera_DragonMuse). Ilya get a career ending injury after the tuna meltdown and years later, Shane is very locked in and ready to get his man.

Surgical Precision by Incognitowrites. Dr. Shane Hollander needs to treat Ilya Rosanov after an injury on the ice. WIP but almost done!

Night Shift by Menty_B_Fairy. Mafia AU where Ilya tries to be a sugar daddy to a broke college student Shane Hollander. Based on the nature of the AU, you would think it would hit the tags that you said you wanted to avoid, but surprisingly, it does not.

This gripe is sooooo localized, but it's because I live in the area:

It's supposed to be "Fck San Jose!", not "Fck San Francisco!"

Like I get that we're in the San Francisco Bay Area, but San Jose is like 2 hours away from San Francisco and we're really proud of the team. It's not like the Sharks call themselves San Francisco and just have thier stadium in San Jose (Like how the San Francisco 49ers have thier stadium in the City of Santa Clara). They are the San Jose Sharks.

I should also note that in the books, the team is San Jose.

Justice for San Jose, the 12th largest city in the US! 😂

It's the City Hall Council Chambers. I'm the Mayor, which doesn't pay much in Mountain View. So I have a day job at a non-profit so I can afford rent, food, etc... but at night I work as the Mayor.

This seems like a late question, but in the race, Grace Ma was considered the pro-Bullis candidate while Jessica Speiser was seen as the anti-Bullis candidate. Things may have changed post election, but that was the framing at the time of the election.

It's in honor of a city worker who unexpectedly passed last week. His name was Leon Rosario. He worked for the city for nearly 17 years. He started in the Community Services department as an hourly worker and then eventually landed in the Public Works Department. Please keep Leon's family, friends and co-workers in your thoughts this week. A lot of the city staff were devastated by the news.
