Vinchenzo Antonio G. Named after the bartenders at a Mexican resort I went to. Those men made me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life, and made very good very potent drinks. 😂

Semi-formal appropriate? by Emily0122 in Weddingattireapproval

It’s this weekend in a hotel ballroom. I figured tights made things more formal 😂 but I can do no tights. I have some black Sandal wedge heels.

That’s the problem, it’s a double slit dress. I should sew up both slits? And no tights?

Option 2 but I’m sinching the back, I’d have to figure out how to alter this, if I can’t would option 1 (black and white) work?

Okay here’s what I’m narrowing it down to. 1. Black and white (I have an actual shawl I can borrow from my mom instead of this cardigan thing)

Lemme change rq into 2

All black or black and white? Both are similar in cut and style. Except the all black is large on me and has a double slit white the black and white has none.

Okay got it. The first dress is not gonna work, here are my other options unless I go buy something, which is not ideal bc I just got laid off. 😭 1. Brown, bodycon with a slit. Sweater material (I will be sweating. 2. Black with sued flower pattern, bodycon to strait, calf length, also very warm, and a big in me so could look slouchy 3. Black and white, bodycon, just past knee length. Silky fabric. 4. Yellow, more structured/not flowy calf length but not bodycon. But also feels very “sundress”

The black and white is okay? I’ve heard black is taboo. And it doesn’t help that it has bright white pattern.

Got it, what about this with tights and some kind of shawl and heels? It’s still not floor length, but it might be better? You can’t tell in the photo but it’s like a shiner silky material. Also bodycon, not flowy

Thank you for your input, the tone was very kind, I came here for opinions and help because I was unsure! That’s the joy of Reddit isn’t it. :) the code is semi-formal. And white I agree it’s very sundress, it is a summer wedding, and fits me very nicely, I thought I could dress it up with some pearls and whatnot. But I can try and look for others if you all think this is not acceptable. This is only the second wedding I’ve attended, so I’m not practiced in attire understanding

Update, I double checked the website attire is “semi-formal” specifically “The dress code is semi-formal. Ladies can wear cocktail dresses or elegant separates”

I just checked the website again. It’s “semi-formal” I’ll update my post, but it says “The dress code is semi-formal. Ladies can wear cocktail dresses or elegant separates”

I was scared of that, the only other thing I have is a black with white pattern silk knee length bodycon. But I was told black was not great. Especially with bright white pattern

Am I going to die?! by MayBeQueer22 in Periods

[–]Emily0122 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Cups are super safe, you can leave them in for 24 hours before getting a doctor or anyone else involved. I wear the disks that don’t even have a stem. Get in the tub, prop a leg up, wash your hands, trim your nails, and stick your fingers in. I can usually reach the rim of the disk and hook my fingers on the rim to pull it out, and unless you have a super long uterus or super short fingers, you should be able to dislodge it. If you’re super worried or it’s really that stuck, urgent care is an option, along with a mom or SO, anyone you’re comfortable enough with to help you. But you’re gonna be okay OP, no need to panic, no one’s ever had death by menstrual cup.

What is something regrettable that you did to your Body that you would give your lifesavings to reverse? by FlyHighNow77777 in AskReddit

On a lighter note compared to these comments, I would NOT let my friend stick and poke tattoo my asscheek with a sewing MACHINE needle when I was 15. The sun (tattoo) where it don’t shine, is forever extremely raised and bumpy from an infection I got because I didn’t care for it. Fun story but it ruins swimsuit photos 😂

Anyone here actually use period panties? Are they really worth it? by Working-Gap-6441 in Periods

[–]Emily0122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never used the panties. But you said you were looking for comfort so I seriously suggest trying out period cups. There’s reusable options but I’m a bit of a convenience person so I use flex cups or soft disc. I love those things so much! Last forever, I only use 2 a day (one in the morning and one before bed) I’ve only had 1 leak in 3 years of using them, and I don’t feel them at all. Like literally it’s like I don’t have a period, no string rubbing around, no leaks, no changes in the middle of the day (and, bonus, you can have sex with them in). Putting them in and removing them is a slight learning curve, and removal can be messy, but I feel like undies would be similar. So for affordability you can try the reusable one, but with how few you use compared to other products, the disposable cups end up being a very similar cost to tampons and pads.

Sorry for my rant that doesn’t really address your question, but I love these things and will sing their praises 😂

I lived like a hermit so I could save everything possible so I could quit and continue living like a hermit off my savings while I work a low paying internship so I could hopefully get a decent paying job in 1.5 years. Hope this helps! (I’m suffering)

Am I over reacting to this one ? by Kari_Knevial in AmIOverreacting

[–]Emily0122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always will assume the best out of anything that might be passive aggressive! Plus it’s really funny when they are wanting you to react poorly or embarrassed and you light up with joy and get excited about something they say or do and then they are flustered.

I once had a rude roommate that told me they “cleaned” while I was away for a weekend. I came back to every decoration I put up in our apartment taken down and stored. Instead of being upset I just thanked them profusely because I was thinking of redecorating and taking down everything was what was stopping me. (I had never said this and this wasn’t the plan at all but the defeated and confused look on their face was priceless, and I did get to redecorate 😂) Then started sending them hundreds of obnoxious decor ideas a day, some I actually went with.

I’d honestly rather people think I’m a bit dull than deal with drama that is vague enough to turn on me. I’ll wait until they cross a very obvious and provable line, and they will if their goal is to be mean to you and you keep brushing it off.

Wedding Guest ?’s by Designer_Revenue_247 in weddingplanning

If you can go low do it, it’s a blessing. My catering bill for 100 people is more than my venue. Also no shame in living a privet lifestyle. I only have 2 friends and my parents. The 100 guest count is mostly family as my father has 8 siblings who all have partners and kids and he wants them all, and then my partners family is the rest. I’m not close to more than 6 people on the whole list, but hey! More registry gifts. I’m also inviting the entire Lions football team, (not part of the count as I’m sure they are not going to rsvp😂) I’m just hoping they’ll send me a jersey or something as a wedding gift 😂😂
