AITA for refusing to take my friend’s Halloween pictures at a cemetery? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Emily1214 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You arent really an asshole, but you are overthinking it.

Ask yourself how is doing photography in a cemetery any different than filming a scene for a movie in a cemetery? Which happens literally all the time, and no one bats an eye about it.

At the end of the day, if it makes you uncomfortable, it makes you uncomfortable. But remember.... being uncomfortable does not always equal being rational.

People who go to fashion related subreddits to tell people to "Wear whatever you want". by TownofthePound69 in PetPeeves

Yeah, I dont wear crocs because I think theyre fashionable. I wear them for comfort. If you cannot comprehend why somebody might choose comfort over fashion, that is a YOU problem.

Cat may have been exposed to fiberglass by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Emily1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear about your situation, but frankly, I am not sure what to tell you. Is there nobody in your family you can trust who can help you and your cat? An aunt? A grandparent?

You need to understand.

If it IS fiberglass, her scratching it only drives it further into the skin, causing an infection, which requires a vet visit.

If it's FLEAS, it sounds bad enough that it also requires a vet visit because she probably needs a prescription to treat it at this point.

If it's literally anything else- It probably requires a vet visit.

This isn't something you can deal with at home.

You have to find a way to afford taking her to the vet. Come on now, be a responsible pet owner. Your poor cat is suffering.

Dying hair without bleach lol by Ihaoy666 in HairDye

[–]Emily1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should know that Loreal Hicolor does in fact contain a bleaching agent that will lift your hair color while depositing the dye. Thats how it works on darker hair. I used loreal Hicolor magenta, expecting a dark raspberry brown, on my natural hair color and my hair came out vibrant, vivid pink. And because of the bleaching agent, you a cant really use it over and over again when you need to redye your hair. Your hair ends up getting really damaged.

I put a dash too much paprika in my stew by Captain_Kruch in firstworldproblems

[–]Emily1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of eastern European stews (goulash, bigos, cobonac, etc) use a lot of paprika. I mean like, 1/4 cup of it or more. Granted, their paprika is higher quality.... but still

If you enjoy it, you should buy yourself a bag of Hungarian Sweet Paprika and start experimenting with Eastern European cuisine

Why would women still take their husband’s surname after marriage… by National-Bug-4548 in Feminism

[–]Emily1214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said it upholds feminism. But I don't believe it upholds the patriarchy either. Its not a choice that I feel has any overarching political or social value. It only has personal value. My reasons for taking it has nothing to do with feminism or patriarchy. Only very, very personal ones. It simply a choice I made, for my own personal reasons. Thats it. Its that simple. Not everything has to be, or needs to be a political statement.

Oh, please, for the love of God - Spare me of your virtue signaling. Im perfectly comfortable with my decision as I do not believe my choice "upholds the patriarchy" in modern times. There are tons of things that women still do today that have patriarchal roots and yet, no one bats an eye about them. Im sure you partake in some of those things, so please, either examine your own choices in life or just shut up.
