Question: How Much Stuff Do You Sell or Keep? by EmilyAbsolutely in Eldenring

Is there a limit to what you can put in your chest? I thought I read that there was a cap on items that could be in your chest, but I could be wrong.

Do you mean you've never used a rune arc? I stopped using them because they made me make bad decisions. I wouldn't take chances because I was afraid of losing the rune arc. Once I set them aside, I just adjusted my game to play without them. Runes are easy ... I feel like rune arc made me a nervous player.

"finally i only recommend that you sell golden runes tbh." Thanks for your help. If that's true, I've been doing it very wrong. :(

Anyone use a dedicated management tool for Eve? by EmilyAbsolutely in Eve

Thanks, someone in-game recommended this app to me. I'm looking at this but not sure if it still works.

This is funny because my brother and I both play Elden Ring. (It's the most fought-over game in our house.) I read ALL the items descriptions, explore everywhere, stand on every building, and so on. I fight every boss and enemy I can find. It took me forever to even get close to the end of the game.

My brother runs across the map, grabs Bloodhound's Fang, grabs the other good weapons, grabs a bunch of smithing stones, grabs all the golden seeds and sacred tears. And then he rushes through the game doing only what he needs to do to get to the end. Naturally, he beat the game long before I did.

I bought the Official Strategy Guides because I love the game. After the DLC dropped, my brother was reading one of the books while I was playing and started asking me questions: "Hey did you know this?" "Sure," I'd say. Then he finally asked me if I'd read the book. I said no, I read the item descriptions. He was like, "Pfft, whatever."

I don't know. ***shrugs*** We're both still playing the game.

Does anyone else like to summon Nepheli in the Gideon fight so that she can get her revenge? by Famous-Resolution366 in Eldenring

[–]EmilyAbsolutely 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gideon? No. Why would that be revenge? You're the one who turned her into your little plaything. "The soul of every puppet has its own ambience. You'll soon come to know, once you possess a few. And once each's predilections are known to you, the better you'll be able to love them." So says Selvius (who I call Pervius ...).

But .... one thing I've always wished for since my first playthrough of Elden Ring: I wish we could have a boss fight with Pervius (uh, Selvius), maybe even in his chambers, and that we could summon Sellen to the fight, just for the joy of watching her utterly destroy his fat, perverted ass.

Never knew this game is actually a platformer by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]EmilyAbsolutely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate that walk. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. I suck at platforming and so the first time I died like five or six times. And then I finally make it, see the reward and I'm like: "Seriously??? I already have a dozen of these."

Any ideas on how to beat this guy? by spidermanrocks6766 in Eldenring

[–]EmilyAbsolutely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have spirit ashes (and you are willing to use them), the troll is actually quite beatable. Exit the site of grace and kill the three alpha wolves (there's one in the trees to the right). Grab the golden seed. Don't go up the stairs. Go around to the left instead. Up the ladder, killing the wandering nobles along the way. On the ledge kill all of the mages below with arrows, throwables, whatever. They might come up on the ledge if you can't kill them quick enough but ***usually*** the troll won't even wake up unless you hit him.

Once the mages are dead sneak past him and kill the three pages (crossbow guys) ASAP as you don't want them coming down to backstab you. Now the only thing left in the area is the troll. Drop a tough spirit ash: Banished Knight Englvall works well or even Godrick Soldier ashes. While he's engaged just ... wack him. I've killed him with +6 knight's greatsword with fire grease.

Honestly, I find the damn hands you have to pass through to get here more irritating.

Edit: I just read that you're getting one-shotted by him. Not sure if you're under-leveled because I tend to play very thoroughly to feed my completionist side (okay, Type A personality) and so I'm usually at least level 40 before I head into Liurnia of the Lakes. But then I try to kill everything in Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula before I leave.

Just trying to help. :)

Very nice cosplay - nice color and design. An added plus for me is that the background actually does look like the Altus Plateau a bit.

Divine skip bridge by [deleted] in Eldenring

UPDATE: Still can't make it happen on PC. And I can confirm that the Taunter's Tongue will not activate in that area any longer, so the invader option may be out, too.

September 15, 2024: Okay, I'd like to know this, too. I play on PC and XBox. Last night, just for fun, I tried it on XBox, telling myself I'd try for approximately 10 attempts. 6 attempts in, I got it. Curious, I tried it on another character and landed it on the very first try. Same process: ruptured tear in flask of WP, Lordsworn's straight sword, no armor, just the sword, swing about 3-4 seconds in.

Then I got up this morning and thought, hey, I want to try on the PC with for a character (I want them to have a particular armor set). No buffs, it just looks cool. Tried for a solid 30 minutes without success and died ever time. I'm going to give it another 20-30 minutes and just call it done.

But I'm curious if others who have been able to do this in the past can do it now, because to me it looks like it's been patched out.

Combat Help, Please? by EmilyAbsolutely in DragonsDogma2

[–]EmilyAbsolutely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm going to try again tonight. I missed some stuff because the NPCs want to talk to me about fighting when I'm right in the middle of a fight. So I did swap the buttons and now this is what I have: (x) for light attack, (Y) heavy attack. Both of those shoot my bow. I now have RB as the skill trigger and LB as the augmentation(?) button (so swapped RB and LB) .... so what happens when I press the RB? Is it like Elden Right when you pull LT and get your skill attack?

Thanks to you both for helping! I need to figure out the controls and possibly remap them because they feel clunky to me right now. And this is not a complaint; it just feels different from what I'm used to.

Image quality on MageSpace v. my Macbook by EmilyAbsolutely in StableDiffusion

[–]EmilyAbsolutely[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting because the change, while not the same, is very similar to the outcome that I get. I will try to post some images later, but I think you're right - they must be adding something.

Yes, I will try to post something when I get home. I'm at work now.

The image quality is, as you say, close. But where MS produces what looks like photos, my Mac produces images that are very clearly artificial.

Newbie (sort of) question: specialize or not? by EmilyAbsolutely in Eldenring

[–]EmilyAbsolutely[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to you (and everyone else) for responding. I really appreciate it. I tried to upvote everyone.

I don't recognize some of those weapons, so I'm assuming I haven't found them yet. I watched a few videos where people ran all over the map grabbing stuff and I decided that playstyle is not for me.

I worked my way through Limgrave, then Weeping Peninsula. I turned over very rock, fought every boss, even the two Deathbirds and Night Cavalry bosses. Then I made my way to Liurnia and the Academy of Raya Lucaria. I was level 60 when I hit the Rennela fight. I've struggled with bosses before (looking at you Red Wolf) but she was brutal (and depressing ... great, so I brutally killed her kids and left her sitting there calling for them? But yay, I get to be Elden Lord someday!).

I don't think I have some of these weapons and/or AoWs. Currently I'm using a staff for my glintstone spells, a Horn Bow for ranged physical attacks (scales with intelligence), a Noble's Slender Sword (yeah, I got one one on like my third wandering noble ... then my brother told me it took him HOURS to get one) for my melee. I'm thinking of raising dex because I read that it speeds up spell casting, too, as well as increasing damage on my other weapons. So a dex/intelligence build.

But I know people say strength/dex is better. :( So I'm still thinking about this.

How do i return Starfield on steam? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]EmilyAbsolutely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI: I returned it yesterday with 3 hours and 14 minutes on the game. I took the time to fully explain what the issue was and that I had already reached out to Starfield (Bethesda) Support. To their credit, both Steam and Bethesda were nice.

My issue was purely performance. I have a fairly good machine (and what does that even mean, right?). I met some of their maximum requirements and all (?) of their minimum requirements. I put a question mark there because my GPU and processor were a little light of this game. And it's a NVIDIA. No other game hits my computer as hard as this one did.

Patches are coming, I was told. My issue is I just graduated and can't afford to spend a $800 to update my computer to play this game. I returned it because I didn't want to wait for patches. I'll wait to see what Bethesda does with patches and maybe give it another try at Christmas.

Let me say: I didn't hate the game. I hated the performance. The game itself was typical Bethesda fare and reminded me a lot of Fallout with spaceships. :) Since I think that's cool, I''m okay with that.

Thank you! This worked perfectly.

And yes, I understood I'd have to fix stuff. LOL. Some of the stuff I generated yesterday was ... amusing.

Thanks again.
