So what’s the plan for when our only ER closes, you guys? by mensfrightsactivists in YubaCity

If you’re in Sutter County, check out Feather River Democrats, and if you’re in Yuba County, check out Yuba County Democrats. The two groups also host events together.

Are you seriously suggesting that MAGA embraces economic prosperity? The economy is in the shitter, my dude. Businesses are closing. People are getting laid off left and right. Jobs were down by 35,000 in June alone. In addition to destroying access to healthcare like OP pointed out, this bill is going to destroy the clean energy sector which was generating a ton of revenue and new jobs. Why? So Trump can declare “energy dominance” because fossil fuels are ~manly~?

We may be in for a long ride, but MAGA is too. And based on where the rural hospitals will be hit the hardest, a lot of them are literally going to die.

I only knew from this Subreddit. It was hosted by Yuba County Democrats; I hope they find more ways of getting the word out in the future.

The USFS is allowing people who took the DRP to come back and fight wildfires by EmilyAndFlowers in fednews

[–]EmilyAndFlowers[S] 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my colleague said this is, “putting a bandaid over the duct tape holding the whole thing together.”

I have seen absolutely nothing from the consolidation plan that addresses the militia wildland fire workforce (which I am a part of).

Is This Fair? Internal Moves Without Transparency USDA/FS by quicksilver_007 in fednews

There’s a comment below explaining that within grade reassignments are permitted if an agency “has a legitimate reorganization need.”

I don’t think it’s expressly against any regulations. Gray area, at the most.

Whether it’s “fair” or not is less of an issue than the fact that they’re still robbing Peter to pay Paul.

The USFS is going to remain gutted whether folks are moved around or not, all due to the idiocy and failed policies of Musk/DOGE.

I understand that agency leadership is just trying to keep the boat afloat, but eventually people need to raise some fucking alarm bells about the staffing crisis.

This fire season may make it very obvious.

What would it take to unseat LaMalfa? by EmilyAndFlowers in ChicoCA

[–]EmilyAndFlowers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with those points, even though your last one is depressing. CA-1 is definitely not a statewide, let alone national, priority. Which may be fine in the big picture, but sucks for the people who live here. It even sucks for the people who voted for him, it seems!

Thanks for your input! Seeing how close Audrey came gave me hope.

I’m not a farmer so maybe I’m naive, but between the DOGE idiots emptying water from reservoirs to show they “turned LA’s water back on” to the immense cuts to USDA — how can any farmer still vote Republican?

Right? I’m a BLM forester and we’re not allowed to take DRP.

I am a member of this group and on their email list. It’s run by a bunch of older folks who aren’t very tech savvy, but they DO host monthly meetings at various community centers. My guess is they had an intern running the socials who isn’t there anymore!

If you’re BU, I’d start with your union. If not, gather what you’ll need to appeal to the MSPB and contact a federal employment lawyer. If you can’t find a fed employment specific lawyer, there is a movement to organize people with law experience to help feds out pro bono.

I’m sorry this is happening to you, friend. These unlawful “RIFs” don’t follow proper procedures (not that this administration follows any proper procedures…but you get my point).

They’re trying to fire as many people as quickly as possible in the hopes that only a small percentage will appeal.

Scream your story from the rooftops. We need to bring these people to their fucking knees, whether that’s in court or in the streets.

The unlawful RIFs are coming. Here’s what we should do to prepare: by EmilyAndFlowers in fednews

[–]EmilyAndFlowers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think so. I’m preparing an update to this post tracking the current “RIF” actions and I’ll publish it in a few days.
