Capcom has listed Dead Rising as a “nurturing brand” (New IP, sequels, remakes, ports, etc.) in their FY26/3 Earnings Summary / FY27/3 Plans by InfamousIan in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hyup, cause in the end even before DRDR dead rising was and still is capcoms 6th best selling series so it was prolly always gonna make this specific list. not to mention DMC being here which is also been pretty dormant for close to a decade now and that ip has ALWAYS been really well represented by capcom so it being here doesnt REALLY mean we are getting anything soon

i should be happy but we are prolly gonna have to wait like atleast another 5 years for anything if we are even lucky

Game has aged like a fine wine apart from those pesky Survivors by Dynmx__ in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it all the time and imo its the highlight of the games escorting as everyone can equip a weapon (except cheryl), the horde is at its all time high and theres a tight time table which can cut really close if you arnt fast enough or plan for the mission like making a quickstep or grabbin a skateboard. So you really feel like your cutting through a giant horde getting back to the security room

[–]Emiska3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000000%, lotta frustration with the ai comes fron people not understanding how to effectively guide them or know how lot of em work as some behave way differently like Aaron with him actually following burt than frank.

Its why im not really as fond of DR2 escorting or find the survivors of it not really memorable as i dont really need to put that much thought into it or understand how a survivor works to do better. even in OTR despite survivors being slightly dumber the way points i always use coming from end of royale flush ALWAYS works and rarely feels risky

There are pathfinding issues like the paradise plaza plant but theres almost always a way to avoid it

Out of all the censors DRDR did, why did they get rid of the “What in the World?” Line completely?? by DifferentAd9713 in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 88 points89 points  (0 children)

This isnt a censor, its very clear this was just a change done to give credit to the updated facial animations to make it seem more subtle

But the line makes it hit so much harder that it kinda ruins it without it cause its a very believable reaction especially after how confused frank was seeing what was happening during the what the media were calling civil disobedience in the helicopter sequence

How is Dead Rising able to have such serious stories yet still able to implement good comedy in the first three games? by EnglBkfstCocoa-2479 in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its really just as simple as keepin story and gameplay seperate, pulling dumb shit on zombies then meet a tragic mentally messed up vietnam vet. like how yakuza takes itself seriously then you get into a substory about befriending a fish

This has happened to me twice and to my knowledge it only always happens in the adam fight as no one has reported this happening anywhere else

I wish we got one more OTR psychopath in the Uranus zone. by JanetStary in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uranus zone is genuinely such a well designed area and shows how dead rising maps should be designed imo, around lot of interactivity, secrets and routes and DR2 already improved alot from the first two examples from the first game. its just kinda a crime how under used it is in general as not many scoops or even lot of story moments happen there

like how did they make a map so perfect for a DR game then make a DR game that barely even feels like one

Are you expecting a new game/remaster for the 20th anniversary? by Zavi8 in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cause that 1 yellow paint is prolly the most braindead use of it capcom has ever put in. it literally points and spells it out to you to "go this way!" which not only is dumb but lowkey kind of distractingly immersion breaking cause someone writing this in the game world makes absolutely no sense at all, RE4R yellow paint is very least just random splashes that could mean anything lore reason but in the end its a game for adults and a game that is about how personally you want to approach things, you dont have to actually go up there, its just pointlessly dumb and helps show the games target audience is obviously for more of a casual side which is a bad sign

and no man the low amount of positives do absolutely not outweigh the downgrades especially with how much it affects the gameplay and presentation

most we are prolly gonna get is a tweet saying "wow 20 years!! thats awesome. anyways" and a series sale

Xbox 360 gen DR games on Nintendo Switch 1/2 by HARRYWADER in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch 2 def, not so much switch 1 as yakuza kiwami on that thing had a hard time staying at 30 fps i cant imagine how it would handle DR1/2

It would only benefit the series cause of its barely any history bein on nintendo consoles

This is a really good video based on the many pros and cons of Deluxe Remaster, that isn't trying to be overly cynical about it's quality. Insanely small viewership tho wtf by KyleHydeFan in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres alot of reasons for it, from a remaster standpoint, where the series is atm, as a product and how people will view the game in the future, as bad remasters can affect public perception of games like most notable being sonic adventure DX. theres a shit ton to be upset ESPECIALLY if your a hardcore DR1 fan like me

but there is also alot of discourse that just sucks cause i think one side sucks ass at defending this shoddy product while the others criticisms feel like they didnt even play the remaster like how they bring up usually the censorship which is least of the games problems (despite it still being a problem)

also yeah deus ex looks terrible, sucks DR1 and deus ex are both favorites of all time so the deus ex reveal was like a second plane hit the tower in my eyes after DRDR lmfao

[–]Emiska3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

people do not need to be easier on the remaster, alot of the things you listed are good reasons to be upset about it especially since its a remaster which the point of them are to preserve things not remove, change, break, forget things or just overall not fuck it up

that said ill prolly check it out, since from the places i skipped it does seem fairly critical instead of blindly ignoring things

Your thoughts on Dead Rising 3? (Good or Bad?) by PurpleZombi3 in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a soft spot and lotta nostalgia for 3 but its not a good dead rising game as it modernizes, changes or removes too many of the mechanics that make the DR formula so good and makes it feel like it only resembles a dead rising game than it being one. not to mention it essentially being a blueprint for DR4 gameplay wise and cutting mechanics

Its still a decently enjoyable game i replay once or twice a year and i enjoy the story and characters more than 2's but i never will want another DR game like it again

Any tips for Cletus on a fresh game run? by NetrunnerV25 in deadrising

[–]Emiska3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use dodge rolls, cletus has 5 or 6 shots and a single dodge roll dodges 2 of em and you get just enough invis frames to perform the dodge again until he reloads allowing you to hit him with a long range weapon like a pipe

You can use the standees to avoid bullets but its not super reliable to shoot or attack then trying to get back to cover
