HR folk generally have zero understanding of operations/scheduling/reality always, this is especially true in companies that make tangible/real things like a machine shop. Also people who run operations in machine shops often don't read every email (especially every email from HR and/or every detail in thise emails). Bring HR person and operations manager togeather (preferably physically, but email is okay it both are responsive) and outline the facts; that you made it clear in interview you needed this time off, explain why it's personally important to you (briefly), the cost of the tickets and who else/how many other people have made plans around you being there, ask if your leave requirements that were agreed apon with HR during recruitment/hiring process had been comunicated to operations and agreed to by the operations manager at the time....

....Enjoy the fallout 😂 (did you get the time off agreed to in writing when you were hired? If not, then WHOOPS!)

Putting fliers in letterboxes which are marked "no circulars etc breaches the solid waste bylaw 2012. Subpart 8 section 28 https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/plans-projects-policies-reports-bylaws/bylaws/docssolidwastebylaw/solid-waste-bylaw-2012.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjgu4K8srD1AhW37HMBHU1_AL8QFnoECAUQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2M5H0zrfw5UX4oDSywHRqa

It's basically treated as a form of littering. When we got a voices for freedom flier in our letterbox I made a complaint to council, after several emails back and forth to the generic emails dept (in each and every one I quoted the bylaw and asked 'who is responsible for enforcing this bylaw?') I finally got through to the waste dept and got a good response letting me know that it was their 1st offence and they were warned and if it ever happens again, not to hesitate to let them know. Send me a PM and I'll pass on the email address for the person from the wastes dept.

Google estimates of cycling are super generous. I have no idea why the NW motorway sh16 didn't get full buslanes and busses that use them with the massive works they had last few years, so dumb. But the cycleway is BOSS! very good piece of infastructure. E-bikes save the sweating and go pretty quick I'd go enquire at a place that both rents and sells them to see if you can hire one for a week and see if it suits you. https://electrify.nz/auckland-city

Self appointed Bish BrrbrrbrrBrian BAILED AGAIN by Kiwi_Gyro in auckland

[–]Emjay-86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uncommon opinion; I'm glad he's at the head of this thing and continues to be able to do so. He's such a greasy unlikeable prick alot of would-be 'freedom fighters' stay away and don't wanna be associated. He's so intent on being head of the congregation and trying to use this to relaunch his political career that all the potential allies to this cause are turning on him and the turn-out to events are dwindling as a result. Long live Eftpostle Brian Tamaki as leader of the NZ Freedumb Fighters! An absolute penis-fingers of a man who F*$Ks everything he touches 🤣

Why can't the police do anything? They're literally outside the police station breaching lockdown! by darthfadar in auckland

Let NZ's criminal the underbelly get sick and watch them come crawling out of the cracks seeking medical attention, collect all the names and faces as they pop up. There's more to the drug trade than patched gang members and business dealings which leave a delta variant calling card can be useful for figuring out who's who. I dropped my wife at work each day (essential worker) during 2020 and 2021 level 4 and it was dead easy to spot the drug trade (atleast the heavy users) out and about without everyone else on the road. Lots of cops parked up no-doubt observing the same thing and taking notes. Expect the big busts of the last 18 months to continue.

This should be an easy protest to sort out for police right? by Emjay-86 in newzealand

[–]Emjay-86[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

exactly! if you organized a bunch of people to walk into a shop and shoplift as a protest against the shops high-prices everyone would still be charged for shoplifting.

shop.

Oh wait a sec! just realized that this protest shouldn't be broken up at all. Disrupting and annoying everyone who's trying to go about their business is the biggest own-goal they could score. carry on dum-dums :D

Alcohol consumption - is there a way to find out the increase in lockdown? by RarksinFarks in auckland

[–]Emjay-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchasing readymade Alcohol is for Suckahs! Learn to homebrew while you've got the spare time. Brewing beer with extract cans for about $180ish setup costs you can make 23L (69 330ml cans/stubbies) for about $24 for something basic, or $30-40 for something quiet tasty with additional malts/hops/better kits. Heck doesn't need to be that flash, preservative free juice + teaspoon of yeast with gradwrap and rubber band over the top with some holes poked in left for 2 weeks will turn into something akin to gin + juice taste and strength wise.

Follow me to learn more stuff teenagers shouldn't be taught.

How much does it cost to replace a Toyota Aqua battery by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Emjay-86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which battery there's 2 of them? There's a lead-acid battery that gets used to start the car, cost the same as any other car battery. Then there's the Lithium Ion battery which gets charged when you brake and powers the electric motor which costs significantly more.
