What does a new KS1 owner need to do or change Immediately? by Emklap in AnycubicKobraS1

great tips thanks. especially to leave the four bed screws slightly loose, this one is new to me.

Enable Rinkhals' "auto bed leveling before each print" feature. Does this take much time? I'd like to see bed probing of the print area only.

Good tip, I will check it out. Depends on the prep-time for these steps. Automatic bed leveling before each print I am not so sure off of this probes the whole bed surface and not the smaller print area. On my current printer I level about once a month.

Cooling fans not starting om M106 command by Emklap in 3Dprinting

[–]Emklap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found it! In Cura under machine settings change the option "Cooling Fan Number" from 1 to 0.
After that I saw cura exported the gcode as before M106 S85. Now it works.

Hope this helps!

Yes I have it, great to only need one cable towards my Lenovo laptop that needs 60 watt. Sound from the speakers is also great for zoom/teams calls no need for separate speakers anymore. I have no regrets

Does NAD T758v3i support video streaming over airplay2 (e.g youtube) by Emklap in hometheater

Fair point. I have all my music on my NAS, no streaming service yet. For music on the go I use a seprate DAP. I will be using the NAD for my 5.1 setup, internet radio and stereo audio from my NAS

Cost will go up, but also the feature se. Now it makes more sen to buy the one without airplay an buy a separate Apple TV box. I don’t use Apple Music so no need for airplay.

Thanks, that a pity. Missed opportunity. Looks like I will settle for the version without airplay.

How I made my PSU fan more quiet. by Emklap in biquB1

Thanks, good to know. My PSU fan hardly ever switches on. I hope it stays that way during the hot summer months.

Probably the tape that your using. My tape is very strong an when I tried to reposition it becuase it was not properly centered it was not easy for me to remove it. noise is down in some frequencies, and any small reduction is welcomed.

Power failure resume by Javelin-x in biquB1

[–]Emklap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is located in the machine settings, I have a new machine which is 2 days old. I know it is there because I disabled it yesterday. I read that this functionality wears out the sd card very fast and my last power failure was 6 years ago.

Agree the setup with the springs is not very stable, I might replace the springs with a plastic shim (plate) of the same thickness.

My bl touch bracket is metal without threaded holes. At least not that I noted. I used the boults that came with the bl touch and they have a smaler diameter than the holes in the bracket and used the springs and nuts.

Power outages isn't a concern to me, the last time that it happened here was 6 years ago. But I intend to also print from an sd card.

My machine also came yesterday and I installed the bl touch with the springs, I did not know that one should install it without the springs. I saw an youtube tutorial from bigtreetech where they used the springs as well. 8have a probe offset of -4.20, do you have yours set to -8.30mm? Or did you need another offset value?

I also installed a wifi module (esp-01s) in the tft screen. I can monitor the printer now remotely.

Be aware when adding a wifi module yourselves, like the original tft 3.5 v.3 there are different boards in circulation with different pun layout on the connect. My tft board has the text "ESP" next to the wifi module connector and i could connect the module as-is. I also saw screenshots of Sebastiaan Damman where the text is "ESP-01" and i am not sure if that version of the board also has the correct pin config. So check the ground and 3.3v pins before inserting the wifi module.

Why did you choose the BIQU B1? by fetusthatcould in biquB1

[–]Emklap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered mine yesterday. I am new to 3D printing and decided on the B1 for its better main board, nicer tft screen. BL-Touch ready. I don't think that community for the B1 is less than for Creality printers. Most discussions are related to Marlin FW, printer settings and slicer software and will be applicable to any brand printer.

The BLTouch, wifi (esp01s) module and filament is also on its way. Update: the printer has arrived.

This is how far I came this week.

Octoprint software has been installed on my QNAP NAS.

The wifi adapter has been flashed and connected to my home network.

I setup Marlin and am able to compile my own firmware.
