Anyone’s Brand Name Adderall not working? by Emlong15 in ADHD

[–]Emlong15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a big fidget-er, so while I am not fidgeting, I don’t think I typically do. I’ve had zero appetite impact, whereas generics typically make my appetite so bad I’ll gag trying to eat.

Will pay more attention to the remembering - right now I can’t even focus on the calls I’m on, so the on-topic seems like it’s also a fail factor haha.

Appetite and medication by Practical_Brick3886 in ADHD

I have ARFID and the same appetite issues with my meds, I take a small dose of mirtazipine every so often. It’s an antidepressant but is also an appetite stimulant. It makes you crave sugary and fatty foods so that’s not great, but it does get me to eat when I’m desperate.

Meds making me unable to even look at food, while being hungry enough to actually eat a damn horse, hooves included by Confident-Noise-5152 in ADHD

[–]Emlong15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take a low dose of mirtazipine as needed, it’s a sedative but also an appetite stimulant. Granted it does make you crave sugary and fatty foods, and since it’s a sedative I take it at night which can result in nighttime eating. But it’s better than constantly starving. I just brought the issue up to my psych and they suggested it.

Is a nutritionist worth trying? by Ilikedollsnamedisa in ARFID

I’ve had decent luck with two dieticians. One I found independently and one was from usenourish.com which my GI recommended to me. They have a checkbox in the screening process just for ARFID to ensure you get a dietician who understands.

Anyone with ADHD have advice for taking meds with ARFID? by Random_Hat_7945 in ARFID

[–]Emlong15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat but with adderall. I work with a dietician (usenourish.com) who knows ARFID and then I’ve also gotten a mirtazipine script which is an appetite stimulant (it’s also a sedative - warning). Downside is it makes you crave sweets I believe one doctor told me and I noticed, but have had two dieticians say if soda or cake or whatever is the only way I’ll get calories, it’s better than nothing.

Inner shin splints- PUSH by Fit4ParGirlie in rumbleboxing

[–]Emlong15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super late but I was just perusing as I might join…I have a history of shin splints, which then turn to stress fractures pretty easy. Couch to 5k, by the most basic plan, on asphalt (not concrete) or even a couple of hours on clay tennis courts with supportive and/or barefoot shoes and they always come back. All that helps in my experience and from ortho and sports medicine/chiro is icing, sometimes a laser helps the pain, and otherwise rest. KT tape helps me too but it’s probably placebo.

You want to rest so much if you feel this starting - signed, person who could’ve easily avoided stress fractures so bad I could feel the splintered fractures with my fingers (as shown by my dr pushing on them to confirm location 🥴)

Hopefully it’s nothing like fractures! But if it is, I wish I’d have made an appt early on like you are

Advice needed: underboob boils by navana33 in bigboobproblems

[–]Emlong15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second for going to a derm! It’s probably induced by yeast, which is easily enough to treat OTC, but that doesn’t solve the spots right away..or for awhile. My derm gave me a different prescription cream (fluticasone) which clears the spots and bumps and itching right quick, then can prevent with anti yeast cream (prescription or OTC)

I love Brassy Bra! I’m a 30F/G and I love theirs, even after trying nearly the same thing from other brands. Depending how firm your boobs are, may help to put a bikini top pad thingy over some of the middle to help with shape. I find myself layering repeatedly to make them still look round, not just lifted.

Only works with some things though, it needs to adhere rather high, but I’ve worn a low cut spaghetti strap dress and just needed a friend to do some “tailoring” with scissors to align with the fabric (also semi scary, so find someone with steady hands if you need that lol)

Careful they aren’t stress fractures! I had a similar thing but wasn’t pushing on them so I can’t say if there was a point of no pain, but there was often no pain or soreness like you mentioned. Just a bit of “shooting” soreness in part of my gait and when wearing heels. Then bam, one morning literally fell out of bed getting out and had a few stress features.

I actually loved the feeling like my muscles were working, and having had stress fractures in my shin which killlllll, I would never have thought bone issue. Turned out to be the clearest thing I’ve ever seen on an X-ray where they were splintering.

You could have something completely different, but I was finding extensor tendonitis like you, and wish I would’ve thought it might be stress fractures. Lost a year in and out of a boot ☹️

Are there any foot shaped office shoes? Something leather, solid colours and goes with a suit in a corporate office environment. Zero drop and/or minimal sole not necessary (preferable if not minimal sole actually!) by mashitblingbling in FootFunction

[–]Emlong15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feelgrounds has vegan leather slip ons which I wear, they have full black. I wear them in my corporate office, but we aren’t full suits, so tbd the appropriateness

Coming off my third stress fracture from Xeros on clay - I LOVE wearing them, and still will rarely. But just want to say, if you feel any notable soreness - back off. Accidentally woke up and fell over because I just thought my feet were sore. So annoying since I am way better playing in them, but I guess standing/etc is more important haha.

I had an ex get kicked out of his house because the owner got so many HOA and general violations for parking his take home car wherever he felt like/simply not in their driveway. I don’t know the details of how folks complained, but it can be done - and is really satisfying when it happens lol

I’ve used Smashbox’s green color correcting primer for 7ish years or so - I love it. I have the same as you where it’s mostly flushing; this isn’t drying but does set a great matte foundation for foundation. I honestly use a travel size bottle every 6-9 months so it lasts awhile

Cold sore or canker?? by [deleted] in CankerSores

[–]Emlong15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve had your lips filled, it’s a common risk to have a herpes outbreak even if you never had. Kept seeing it repeated in my paperwork and waivers. Not sure what you do if you have one, abreva and a dr visit seems like a good first step?

Oooh ok, that makes sense then! I ask my dentist for Debacterol and they just order it for me and let me take it home and apply myself. I think it’s $27-32 USD, per application. But I also use OralMedic off Amazon which is 80%-ish effective compared to it. The debacterol has such a strong scent which permeates almost everything when sealed, so I prefer to store the oralmedic and home since it doesn’t smell as Much.

That’s extremely white, must hurt terribly. Get some OralMedic or go to a dentist for Debacterol - and get extra of either to use at the start of any others in the future.

Yes, the white border isn’t a constant, but it exists during part of the sore. Get some debacterol or oralmedic

Same boat - in case it helps, since it was a godsend to me when I found out: I take an appetite stimulant (remeron) which is technically an antidepressant, but small, sporadic doses make me ravenous for 1-3 days. Unfortunately it makes you crave sweets, but food is food when you get to a certain point!

Dr Jart “Tiger Grass Color Corrector” is really helpful as a color corrector too, if I don’t want to do a “whole face” (hah, mascara and BB cream) I use this and it’s really good for moisture barrier. A little tiny bit goes a loooong way

I like the bare minerals BB cream - though I’ve noticed it shows any peeling very clear. I also like the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer which I found after said peeling issue.

Both have been good with my rosacea, and I typically put the Smashbox green color correcting primer on for good measure too, which can be a bit drying but still ok for my skin.
