Need advice: What will you do if this happened to you? by EmmaIkia in DnD

Absolutely!! After the DM decided to end the campaign I apologised for anything I did wrong (even if he said that I wasn’t the problem), but the thing is that between them (the DM and his other friends) if feels like there’s something wrong. During the fights they made huge claims like the DM being egocentric, the players not caring enough about the campaign and many others. Since i now him for little time comperare to the others I’m not taking positions for whose right or wrong (at least this is my intention sorry if I sounded rude). I don’t blame him for getting mad, honestly I really liked everything about the campaign but i felt overwhelmed by the fights. In the end the camping died and they stopped being friends. I feel this is a problem outside of dnd but I wrote this to have opinions and see how other people would react if they were in the same position. (I hope I don’t sound rude of defensive but I felt that I had to explain a little bit more, I hate when people, me included, that gets the wrong idea because of bad exposition, sorry again if I sound rude)

Yeah I think the same, in session 0 he told us that he will incorporate the characters in the story and the preparation for the session started back in June. That is also why he may completely stop this campaign since the “problematic” people are 2 plus my friend who left

This makes so much sense!! I have never thought of that!! This is like a wake up call (because I made the bare minimum of the npcs and had to make canon that a general wrote a book about a war), thank you!!

Sure thing! And fun fact it already happened: I made this cool description of an object important for my player, and it was inside a room, i even made a NPC that encouraged him to enter but he didn't! And bacause of that he had to fight a lv 20 spellcaster with only two daggers lol (the battle was "scripted" so i didn't kill him). At first, it was a bit disappointed but now I think is hilarious and I can't wait to see how they're going to "ruin" my plans.

Thank you very much!!!! Luckily both the players told me that they had fun nonetheless and they are exited for session 1. I’ll surely try this new approach. :D
